There are two main dining facilities on campus: Allen Dining Hall and Brandt Student Center (which includes 155 Grill, Jazzman's, Sandella's Flatbread Café, and Simply to Go). Each eatery contains fresh food served throughout the school day. The exception is Allen Dining Hall, where workers take breaks in between breakfast, lunch, and dinner to get set up for students. One of the perks of Allen is the major variety of food, with an all-you-can-eat buffet. Plus, there's a salad bar, fruit bar, and dessert bar in addition to the actual meal. Every dining facility also includes a variety of food for vegetarian students or those with certain dietary restrictions.
All in all, the quality of food at Shenandoah is great. Food is delivered every morning and catered by Sodexo. Depending on the meal plan a student purchases, meals range anywhere from $3 to $6. Dining facilities are available from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day, and on weekends, the services tend to be open later. Food services at SU are great according to students, but some also tend to extremely dislike the food in comparison to their home-cooked meals. Some attendees wish that the dining halls would stay open later to accommodate those with late-night study habits or commitments.
