So far it has been easy for me to balance School, Work, Social/free-time, and a varsity level collegial sport.

I chose this school because of its close proximity to my house, the decent tuition, and my prior attendance during my enrollment in the Running Start program. The instructors were knowledgable and friendly, the office for student accommodations were very helpful, and I enjoyed the campus and the student resources. As it's a small community college, there sometimes aren't enough teachers to ensure a wide variety of class times offered for every course, but I have had almost no trouble scheduling classes to work around my schedule and I have never had conflicting class times. All of my credits transferred from my time in Running Start and my high school classes that offered college credit. I'm currently working towards a Direct Transfer degree to a four-year school, and my advisor (a math instructor of my choice) was very helpful planning future classes that fulfill my transfer degree an advising me which instructors I would learn best from based on my learning style. Every faculty member I've interacted with have been very accommodating when I've come to them with a problem.

I work very hard to get good grades in school. I am typically a A student however this program constantly challenges me. I typically get an 85% in all classes which in this program is a 3.0. There is a large mix of types of people in our group, male/female, older/younger, people with bachelors degrees and high school diplomas, and a variety of backgrounds. It is nice to have such a large variety because everyone brings something unique to the table and challenges the way we think about things.

So far, I think that the classes have been great. I transferred to Shoreline CC from Spokane Falls Community College and all of my credits transferred. Also, I thought that I would have to take a lot of boring basic classes despite my emphasis in film, but SCC has so many amazing film, cinema, and media courses that are available.

The classes and teachers are flexible and really just want to see their students do well for the most part. They try to help you learn in the best way for you. Transferring credits out has been a tough for me and quite frustrating they made it sound like schools would just take all of my credits when in fact they will not.
