Not Very Sure – I am not very fond of sports. Didn't pay much attention about sports at school or the news doesn't really catch my attention

Not Many Opinions – Don't find the school particularly near to any really good restaurants

Reliable and Convenient – The wireless network is pretty reliable. There are computers almost every floor in the Main College Building for public use. Very convenient.

Be Prepared If You're Not from New England – It could be snowing one day, and 70 degrees and sunny the next! Bring rainboots because you will definitely need them at some point. Also, if you live in a warm state and don't have winter stuff, buy it all: gloves, a coat, earmuffs. Trust me. Boston weather has no mercy.

Health & Safety:
Totally Safe – The Simmon's dorm is also home to the Dispatch Center, so if you are living there you have extra built in security! Plus, as a bonus there are some extremely cute young Simmons cops!

You Will Get a Great Education – The person who complained about the science courses here at Simmons and said that you will not like it if you are a nursing major is clearly not cut out for science courses at the college level. Yeah, the sciences are hard here, but what's her excuse when other nursing graduates have no problem passing all of their courses? If you are meant to be a nursing major and can handle difficult science classes you will succeed. The Simmons College nursing program is one of the best in the country. After seeing some friends not pass their nursing classes because they realized science was not for them, I am so confident that the young women who graduate from the Nursing program at Simmons are beyond well prepared. If you love science you'll do great!

Simmons College encourages students to take public transportation whenever possible. Parking on campus is very limited, however there are many other parking garages nearby.

There really isn't much partying at Simmons College. There are, however, many other colleges nearby that have plenty of parties that Simmons students often attend. There are also plenty of bars in the area but they are all 21+, obviously. The reason I gave Simmons a C+ in nightlife is that there really is not much partying going on on campus and some walking/traveling is required.

In Boston, there is so much to do on a college-student budget. There really is no need to have a car. Students can get to everything from the grocery store to museums and attractions by public transportation. There are also many things to do for free in the area. For instance, there are many scenic walking/biking paths and even strolling around the city is fun because there's so much history and culture in Boston.

I love Simmons. There are so many amazing people. The faculty/staff genuinely care about you.

In my opinion Simmons is quite diverse, but that may be because my high school had zero diversity. I have not come across anyone who is not accepting. There is an exception though to political opinions; if you are conservative, you are shut down hard core.

I was surprised at the amount of help I got from Simmons. However, it is still a very expensive school, and even though financial aid helped, it still was not enough. Try to apply to as many outside scholarships as you can to help out with college finances.

I loved living in a dorm at Simmons. Everyone is nice and very helpful. There are plenty of activities to get involved in, and the residence campus is just beautiful. It's like it's own little community right in the heart of Boston. Also, even though the academic campus is a block away, it serves as a little bit of exercise every morning. However, I give it an A- because even though I loved living on campus, it is very costly. Therefore, I was only able to experience dorm life for one year.

It's Very Friendly – Nearly all the teachers are approachable and friendly. Every Friday, the Computer Science teachers all travel to the Dorm Campus dining hall and have lunch with the students, all of whom are welcome to come and eat in a non-educational setting.

It Really Depends on Who You Hang Out With. For the most part, the few people who do use drugs or drink excessively are very open about it. There is little to no attempt to conceal it, so policy enforcement is almost to nothing. However, only a few people actually seem to do anything along those lines, and peer pressure is limited to non-existent.

Walk It Out – Simmons College students usually will walk to classes. Luckily, academic campus is 10 minutes away. Cutting through nearby school Emanuel College, makes the walk seem shorter. Overall, the commute isnt so bad...unless it's raining or snowing.

Since Simmons is split into two campus, right at the heart of the Fenway, parking is limited. We do have a couple lots for 15 minutes, or on academic campus for professors, etc., but it'd be nice to see more parking for students and/or visitors.

Simmons College Athletics are D3, making school top priority. The athletic staff is very understanding when school related detriments cause one to miss practice; no one will make you repent. The facilities are fairly new, clean, and staffed with coaches, maintenance and trainers that'll help one throughout their athletic career. The Spirit at Simmons is closely knit; the way a "sisterhood" should be.

I just love the local atmosphere. The location is very convenient. The residential campus is near eateries, the grocery store, a movie theater, and the Boston T.

Meals can be expensive without meal plans. Good at times and not so good others.

The food is awful, the fact that there are no guys around is unbearable at times. The girls are nice, but it is a small school and certainly not for everyone.

Yes the computer labs can be crowded, but the new apple computers are fantastic!

Health & Safety:
I have never felt unsafe. Public safety always notifies when something's going on around campus.

The area around Simmons in Boston is so very expensive. Although there are plenty of apartments to choose from they are just so expensive and often times not worth moving off campus for.
College Senior 2010-11-18T18:30:29Z
The facilities at Simmons are great. They have a nice gym that is conveniently located by the residence halls. The dining hall and the cafes are also great, the food they offer is delicious. The library is huge and has plenty of places to study that even students from other schools come to take advantage of them. There are always great activities going on and everyone gets involved.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
