I love all four seasons and you will get them here.

Staff extremes – Overall I have had a good experience at Simmons and I have experienced the greatest instructors in both class and in clinical. That being said I feel that the management of the program seems to be sub par and not always the most professional. This has proven to very frustrating at times but like I said, overall it is a great program.

Cant Get Better – in the heart 0f boston: museums, hospitals, multiple other colleges in the area. not to mention fenway park, multiple venues for nightlife such as sportsbars, restaurants, and dance clubs.

Excellent Dining and Activities in the Fenway – having Simmons right in the heart of the Fenway is such an advantage for off campus activities. it is right near fenway park: chock full of atmosphere and dining/drinking for all tastes and costs!

So Much to Do in Boston! The nightlife is great in Boston! Not so much at Simmons College itself, but everywhere around the city is great to be! So much goes on besides clubs too, if that is not your thing.

Many, but Expensive. In Boston there are tons of apartments so finding one is not a problem! But they are expensive. However, they are still cheaper than living at the Simmons' dorms. They are also very close to campus.

There is SO much to do around Simmons! Not only is it located in the great city of Boston, but there are tons of other schools and students around. Simmons may be an all girls school but it is not a problem meeting other people with all of the college activities that are held.
College Junior 2012-07-10T21:15:50Z
Not a Problem! The weather is great in Boston. Even if it snows, the campus is always cleared off efficiently and quickly. The dorms are really close to the school too so walking there is not too much of a problem.

Great Teams, but No Support – The teams at Simmons are awesome and when you're on a team, you find yourself so close to everyone! The only down side is that they are not supported at all! Very few people attend anything sports related, except the athletes themselves.

Guys & Girls:
Mix of Everything! Of course, at Simmons there are no guys (at least in the undergraduate programs). When it comes to the girls, there are so many different types of people there - from sporty to artsy and everything in between!

Great, but High Cost – The dorms at Simmons are very nice and most are modern. The only complaint is that it is very expensive to live there. Being in Boston, you could probably find an off-campus apartment that is cheaper. One great thing about the dorms is that you can choose to live on special floors, such as the "Foodie Floor" for people who love to cook or the "Sports Floor". There is also a few substance-free floors and an entire wellness hall.

What I love about Simmons is that mostly every facility is very modern. The library is gorgeous, very new, and such a great study spot. The main campus building has an older structure but has been renovated nicely. The only place that isn't as modern as I would like it to be is the science building which they are working on updating.

There are many computers all over both campuses at Simmons College which makes it so easy to print something quickly or check your email. Sometimes the computers can be slow but this is usually not the case. Printing is very easy at Simmons, even from your own computer. A personal printer is definitely not needed, as money is given each semester for printing. A personal computer is always nice, but if you are looking to just use the school computers it would be easy to do so.

Simmons College is located in the heart of Boston. Therefore, there are unlimited restaurant options! If you want something cheap, you can go to McDonalds or Panera. If you wanted a nice sit down restaurant, there are plenty of those around as well such as the Longhorn Steakhouse.

Dining on the academic campus is great. There are plenty of options and the food is delicious! However, on the residence campus the dining is much different. The food is good, but most of the time the options are not put together very well to make a good dinner. For example, they would put out three different types of meat with very little vegetables, or vice versa.

Boston, That Is – Although there isn't any nightlife ON campus, Simmons is located in Boston, where you can find the best college nightlife experience at either schools nearby or clubs in the area.
College Junior 2012-06-13T22:06:01Z
Supportive and Helpful – Simmons gives women the opportunity to explore things for themselves and there are very little interventions on students unless they are the ones seeking help that they may need. Simmons is there to help guide their students and help them. They want students to take advantage of the help that's available to them.
College Junior 2012-06-13T22:00:12Z
Safe and Comfortable – Compared to other schools, I would not say that Simmons College has a drug problem. It's not what you would consider the "party school," and there are no parties or drugs on campus. If people do choose to go to parties or use drugs or alcohol, it's done off campus. Simmons is a very safe and comfortable environment.
College Junior 2012-05-17T03:05:10Z
Don't Own a Car – I do not park on campus, because Simmons College is located in the middle of Boston, therefore I do not need a car.
College Junior 2012-05-17T03:03:54Z
Great Faculty! The faculty at Simmons College are very knowledgable and have a very high interest in helping their students succeed.

Apparently we had a mild winter this year...it got into the teens during the day at the coldest and it's currently may and it's still hovering in the 50s. The fall, however, was spectacular. Very warm.
College Junior 2012-05-02T20:06:21Z
Great for Nursing and Gender Studies – All of the health science programs here are great. The gender studies department is also quite good. All of the other areas are adequate to above average, with more creative majors either not offered or seriously lacking. I want to study art, but there are only a few classes offered at very irregular intervals from semester to semester. There's no photography major not a creative writing major. If you think you may end doing something creative, I would recommend going elsewhere.
College Junior 2012-05-02T20:02:35Z
Not Diverse – Coming from Atlanta, I was shocked to discover that many of the students here are from rural, primarily white parts of new england and felt that moving to boston was a 'culture shock' because of the diversity. This blew me away, because Boston is probably one of the whitest placed I've ever been. There are a lot of white people running around who are so afraid of BEING racist that they in turn ARE racist.
College Junior 2012-05-02T20:00:25Z
Sketchy and Pricey – Boston is very expensive. While it isn't hard to find a place to live, it IS hard to find a place to live that's affordable. Most Simmons students live in the Mission Hill area, which is a not-so-nice part of town. But Boston overall isn't THAT dangerous as far as cities go, so it's livable. Just don't expect to live in a nice apartment for less that 1200 dollars a month.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
