The campus police are very nice folks. There are crimes that happen in the neighborhood, but not generally on campus. The campus police are willing to walk from campus to campus with you if you want (the academic and residential campuses are a few blocks apart). They don't generally waste time on things like bothering folks when they come back drunk (unless there is an actual problem).
