Drugs are not a serious problem at Simmons—you need to dig pretty hard to find any activity on campus. The smell of marijuana occasionally appears on the Residence Campus, but this does not happen with enough frequency to cause concern. Over-the-counter drugs are more common for students looking to stay awake for a study session. Adderall and painkillers are present, though not highly sought after or abused. Hard drugs are not visible at all, and stories of party drugs stay in the clubs. Other than the caffeine kick a visit to Dunkin’ Doughnuts or Starbucks brings, alcohol is the most common drug of choice—campus programming is focused toward alcohol abuse rather than drug abuse. There is no pressure for non-users to use drugs.
Students using any substance are generally smart enough not to get caught or partake on campus. School policies are enforced, but consequences are rarely neccessary. Although there are programs available, don't worry—there is not a not a DARE-program atmosphere on campus. Drug counseling and alcohol abuse programs are available through the Counseling Center and peer education discussion groups. Abuse and activity is dealt with through the student Honor and Judicial boards.

Nowhere to Go
There's not much of a party scene at all at Simmons, so you have to either go to another college or stick it out in your room.

Clean Environment
There are people at Simmons who do smoke and drink, but they are definitely the minority. Smoking and drinking is never a problem on campus.
