College Prowler Take
Simmons women are extremely independent and focused, and the all-women environment creates a bond among students who are all experiencing college life together. And the brightness of students is highlighted by passion for their fields of study. Simmons is not about finding a husband or wife, which encourages students to focus more on their education than what to wear—students are not pressured into dressing to impress anyone but themselves. Everyone seems to have their own style and approach to their appearance as they begin crafting the rest of their college and adult identity. Although it is an all-women’s college, Simmons is not a nunnery, and Boston offers opportunities to meet all kinds of people. Students looking for guys will have to focus their attention elsewhere. Many Simmons students find guys at other colleges in the area. Many girls are in long-term relationships, and some are even engaged to people at home. On weekends, there are many more guys on campus picking up a date. There are a couple of male graduate students on the Residence Campus in North Hall, but they quickly seem to become just another one of your classmates. The women on campus are respectful of one another, although arguments arise on the Residence Campus when shampoo disappears. And no, everyone on the campus does not explode with PMS at the same time. Student cliques are intense, with different groups enjoying different scenes. Majors and student activities groups often separate the community in both positive and negative ways.

There are no guys :-O big shocker there! Actually for some it is, but anyways! You can easily find guys at MIT/WIT. Add some on Facebook before you head out to school---find some of the frats at MIT and add some of their social chairs on Facebook, and you'll end up getting invited to their parties!

I try not to pay attention since I have a boyfriend of my own, but you find a lot of good-looking ones that you can’t keep your eyes off of. It also depends on where you go. MIT boys might seem a bit nerdy, but then you have guys from Northeastern, BU, and Boston College. You can’t complain that you can’t find one. Being an all-girl’s school has its benefits when it comes to finding a guy. Girls on campus are friendly, great to hang out with to go shopping, to party with, or just to chill and have a girl’s night in. |

Well, being an all-women’s...
Well, being an all-women’s college, there aren’t many guys on campus. Of course, there will be the occasional male or two in one of your classes, being part of the Colleges of the Fenways, and you will see the male graduate student in passing, but for the most part, to find guys, you’ll need to wander off campus. Don’t worry, Wentworth and MIT boys are always willing to hang out with Simmons girls. The girls here, for the most part, will talk to everyone. But of course, you will run into the drama that seems to be like high school that some girls just haven’t grown out of yet. |

The girls are mostly nice. You’ll meet people from everywhere—everyone’s so different, and yet we all get along nicely! Any guys you see are most likely taken, though—they are the boyfriend or whatever else of someone on campus. |

Social Scene
The Residence Campus is quiet during the week, filled with students intent on their studies. However, once the weekend approaches, the voices of girls on the quad become much louder later into the night. Parties rarely occur on campus; students visit neighboring schools and bars and return home to the campus when done.
Hookups or Relationships?
Weekends at Simmons have been dubbed “Hotel Simmons,” when boyfriends and male counterparts suddenly fill the dormitories.

Dress Code
Boston's metropolitan feel reflects in the fashion of the area and of Simmons. Students come to class in a variety of fashions, ranging from H&M to Louis Vuitton. The lack of men and long study nights influences student comfort in coming to class in pajamas. The unpredictability of the weather makes it difficult to dress in anything but layers. When it comes to dressing up for a night on the town, the dorm rooms turn to runways. News to the non-New Englander: don't be surprised to see flip-flops in the winter.
