College Prowler Take
Even if you can survive the manners of crazed Boston drivers, good luck finding a parking spot. Simmons’s small size becomes a disadvantage when trying to find parking. Faculty and staff are offered parking, but there is no on-campus parking for students. Resident students are not allowed to park on the Residence Campus or at the Main Campus Building. During the winter—the one time you would really want a spot—parking becomes more difficult or even prohibited. It is not rare to see a car completely covered with snow after a plow has just moved through the streets. Good luck digging that out. Visitors to the Residence Campus often park along the meters on Boylston. Make sure you’ve stocked up on quarters to feed the meters, and make sure they are working. Many overnight guests find themselves with the unpleasant surprise of an electric orange parking ticket. The parking officers have no sympathy when writing a ticket.

I wouldn’t recommend bringing a car to Boston, ever. I believe commuters are the only ones that can get parking, and even they have to pay an arm and a leg. Parking on the street isn’t the easiest thing to do. |

I don’t have a car at school, because it is never easy to find a parking space, traffic seems terrible, insurance is high, and there’s always potholes and snow. |

Parking is not available at school, and it is always a hassle to find parking. If you ever want to have anyone over who drives, make sure you set your alarm for 8 a.m. and have a roll of quarters, because the MBTA police are out every two hours writing up tickets. |
