Safety First

Simmons College does everything in it's power to make sure that all of its students and staff are safe. They take necessary measures whenever someone's safety or well-being is in question. Public Safety is available 24 hours of the day and is one phone call away for any questions, concerns, or requests for assistance (such as, picking up someone from a destination once public transit is closed). They make sure everything is in check and running smoothly.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!

Being under-21, there are plenty of frat parties to attend. Harvard usually throws the best, but MIT, BU, Northeastern, BC, and Tufts are close and easy to get to in the city.. boys aren't too far away girls! There is always something going on everyday of the week, whether it is a baseball game or a marathon. Over-21 has a great party seen, great bars, like club cure, splash, rumor, estate and much more.. but it never gets boring.

Newbury street has amazing food and shopping if its in your budget, and the pru and copley are not too far away from there.. if you want the normal mall experience go to cambridgeside -- just a close t ride. everything is at easy access just 1.70 for a t-ride and your in the other part of the city.

Boston has everything to offer for young woman, at simmons you can focus your attention on education during class time and get ready to meet some sexy stud later that night -- its never boring.

Campus living: the housing is not the best for 1st and 2nd year students but upper-classmen do get lucky! But youre right in the city. public safety is great they dont really WANT you to get in trouble they just want to make sure youre not doing anything stupid... just a warning everytime they see you! -- just be smart and safe!

Great People Involved in Admission and a Variety of Classes

The professors and admissions office workers are very helpful and answer any number of questions promptly. When they are not in their office, they send emails to make sure you are aware of their absence and when you can count on hearing back from them. Simmons also has a great variety of classes.

Simmons Financial Aid Is Not Sufficient

The first year Simmons provided me a decent amount of financial aid and this year coming up they were awful and offered me basically nothing. this school is extremely expensive and is NOT at all worth the price.

You Will Get a Great Education

The person who complained about the science courses here at Simmons and said that you will not like it if you are a nursing major is clearly not cut out for science courses at the college level. Yeah, the sciences are hard here, but what's her excuse when other nursing graduates have no problem passing all of their courses? If you are meant to be a nursing major and can handle difficult science classes you will succeed. The Simmons College nursing program is one of the best in the country. After seeing some friends not pass their nursing classes because they realized science was not for them, I am so confident that the young women who graduate from the Nursing program at Simmons are beyond well prepared. If you love science you'll do great!

There are frats and sororities around from other schools and around the city, but Simmons has none. We're essentially a giant sorority anyway, being a women's college.

The students at Simmons College...

The students at Simmons College are, for the most part, too driven to be involved in drugs. Ritalin or Adderall are probably the most common drugs, but a small amount of people are also known to smoke pot in their rooms.

Some people sneak off to the park nearby to smoke at night, but that's about it. I'm sure there are girls into harder drugs here, but it definitely isn't big.

Simmons is basically one huge sorority, but we don't have any actual ones. The frats of other colleges in the areas—MIT, Harvard, BU, Northeastern—are where most girls go for parties their first year.

Simmons is on the list of most sober schools in the country, but this just means we find other places to party—this is Boston. As long as you aren't obviously partying in your room or come back from a party puking in the halls, no one will really say anything.

I don't know anyone who does drugs...

I don't know anyone who does drugs at Simmons, aside from a few friends who smoke pot here and there. Certainly people drink—binge drink, especially—but if you don't drink, you can definitely find things to do. I didn't drink until sophomore year and never felt excluded. People smoke cigarettes but not a majority, and it's usually just a college phase anyway. I'm sure people do harder stuff, I just don't know anyone. Also, I'm an RA, so they probably hide everything from me more than most people!

The drug scene at Simmons is basically nonexistent. There are a few girls who smoke cigarettes in designated areas outside, but I have never heard of any illegal drug activity on campus. If people do drugs, it is off campus.

There are so many good restaurants off campus that www.campusfood.com will be your best friend as far as delivery food goes. There are some awesome restaurants right in our front yard—Longhorn, Hidyan, Brown Sugar, Indian Samraat, Chipotle, and the list continues. There are really good cheap places and other nice ones, such as Petit Robert. All these places are definitely within walking distance.

I love the restaurants in Boston—there are tons of options. The restaurants in the Simmons area aren't the greatest, but the really epic ones are just a short cab or T ride away. I love Chili Duck, Cafe Jaffa, Sonsie, Island Hopper, Thai Basil, and tons of others.

Campus police are strict when it...

Campus police are strict when it comes to breaking the law, so if you do drugs and they find out, there are consequences. Drinking on campus is allowed if you are 21 because we have wet campus. If you come home drunk, they only get involved if you get really sick and need to go to the hospital. You will get in trouble if caught drinking in your room underage, so be responsible.

I love it. This is the sixth college that I have attended (over ten years), and I have to say I think I made a good choice for myself. If I was younger, the all-girls thing might bother me. I have never lived in the dorms, and I think it’s a good idea because you’re more likely to meet people. I wish I was somewhere else only because of the weather, which sucks. Plus, the amount of scholarships and financial aid I’m getting is incredible. Private schools are an excellent choice for that reason alone, they have money to dish out.

Well, it’s an all-girl school, except for the graduate programs. Mainly, the only guys you see on campus are employees or boyfriends. But there are many good-looking guys around Simmons at Wentworth and Northeastern! There is a good-size lesbian population on campus, too, so if you’re into girls, then there are plenty of people for you to socialize with!

Food on campus is like any other college food. You can’t complain about it because they have the best quesadillas, salads, and burgers. There is always something healthy to eat, and we have a late-night snack place that is very beneficial for late-night studying.
