There is no Greek system at Skidmore, which I think is a big drawback in the social scene. Underclassmen try to party in a dorm (not a good idea), and there isn't a surefire place to go for a party or a place to hang out.

Food is pretty good. There are usually a lot of options at D Hall, unless you don't like pizza, salad, or pasta. In which case, your options are then fairly limited.

On-campus dining is excellent....
On-campus dining is excellent. They're great with accommodating dietary restrictions. They could use more organic stuff and local foods, but for dining hall, it's excellent. I like being on the unlimited meal plan. I also like that they designate $50 at the beginning of the year for the on-campus food store places.

Skidmore doesn't have Greek life, but that doesn't mean there aren't parties! There's plenty of nightlife in Scribner Village and Northwoods Apartments on-campus, as well as Stables and other places off-campus. We also have great comedy groups, a cappella groups, dances, and all sorts of things to do and see on campus on the weekends.

There is no Greek life, but trust me, the parties don't suffer because of it.

The dining hall has pretty good food, I have to say. I also work in the kitchens and can personally vouch that nothing disgusting gets thrown in. The cooks do their best to vary the menus, and there are a bunch of vegetarian and special-diet options. There's also a café and a coffee shop in the student center that are pretty good.

The food is pretty good. The dining hall is top-notch. Though I have never had a meal plan, it is nice to know that you can easily go to the dining hall at any time. The Spa is wonderful.

The dining hall is amazing, and one of the best parts of the school. The Spa has great junk food for late-night snacking, but not many healthy options.

The food on campus is pretty good. The Spa makes great sandwiches and also offers pre-made sushi and other little snacks. There are great delivery restaurants around that know they are delivering to college students, so they're not too pricey.

There is no Greek life. Either you drink at the bars on the weekend or you smoke pot with friends on campus—that's really all that happens. The parties tend to get broken up by the cops early.

The food on campus is okay. The dining is much improved, and the Spa makes pretty good greasy sandwiches and stuff like that.

The Spa is where it's at for lunch and drunken late nights. D Hall is pretty amazing, too, if you have a meal plan.

I love Skidmore. There might be some policies and priorities I would change, but I do not prefer to be anywhere else, and I value the education I am getting, both inside and outside of the classroom. |

I’ve had a wonderful time at Skidmore. There are definitely some downsides, but nothing that makes me wish I was somewhere else. |

I am glad that I went to Skidmore. It is a great place to grow, especially for the independent. Skidmore is the perfect place for someone who does not quite know what one wants to do in life. Skidmore gives its students a chance to try many different fields of study. |

I have had a great experience so far! Skidmore was the first school that I looked at, and I am so glad I decided to come. My Skidmore experience has played a big part in making me the person I am today, and I would not chose to be anywhere else. |

While Skidmore may not be the most...
While Skidmore may not be the most diverse campus ethnically or racially, it is diverse in the fact they you will find hockey players in ballet class at 8 a.m. You will find people who are in the renowned a capella group, the Dynamics, and on the polo team. You will find professors who invite students to their houses for celebrations. You will find students who are double majoring in art and business or creating their own majors. You will find your writing center tutor and business coach out at the bars Saturday night and they won’t ignore you. In general, you will find a very warm campus, faculty and staff who will truly miss you when you leave, and classmates who you will keep in touch with for years or a lifetime. |

I loved it. I would not have gone anywhere else. Skidmore provided me with the perfect balance of academics and extracurriculars. Also the small class size allowed me to form close relationships with professors and classmates. |

Woooooooah man, like—what? There is weed a plenty, and there’s coke if you hang around the theater long enough. Skidmore is more of a drinking school. Oh yeah, you like uppers? We’ve got those, too. |

Skidmore has a mix of professors; some truly stand out, and others are less inspiring. For the most part, I think the professors at Skidmore feel very passionate about their subject matter and do the best they can to pass that enthusiasm onto their students. |

Because Skidmore is so small, most of the professors will only know you by name; they will be interested in who you are as both a student and as a person. Most professors have their doors open and love for students to stop by and check in. Some will even show up at sporting events to cheer for their students or ask how the hangovers are treating you, knowing the previous night was a senior party. |

The weight room is pretty basic and could use a makeover. The cyber café has modern facilities with nice new computers and modern looking furniture. It’s a good place to hang out and get a coffee and surf the Web. On the whole, the facilities are up-to-date. Even if not new, they are still functional. |
