Financial Aid

Currently I am on a full ride to Skidmore College. I was dedicated in high school and had very good grades. You just have to want it and show them that you want it. Also, familial financial situations are also taken into account when offering financial aid to students.

Skidmore Gives a Lot !

Skidmore is very generous with financial aid; if you need it they will not hold back. The process is very simple, and if you complete the forms on time you will receive your financial aid package along with your acceptance if you apply regular decision. You can also choose what to accept and what to decline in the package they offer.

Won't Get It Unless You're a Minority

Skidmore gives aid to quite a few students, but if you're like me you wouldn't know it until you started talking to your peers. Skidmore approaches the application process with the state of mind that they want to accept people that don't need aid, but then to keep up with the diversity quota they give essentially full rides to dozens of minority and international students. Many of my friends fall into this category and I give them kudos for getting so much out of the system, but I do feel a little discriminated against.
