It's financial aid - I doubt it's easy for anyone. The school doesn't offer merit-based scholarships, something I personally was depending on for other schools in the hopes that I wouldn't have to take out as many loans. My family didn't quality for need-based financial aid so we took out student loans instead. However, all students have the option of doing a "work study" in which they can work at various places around campus (usually the dining hall or cafes) and get paid for it/have slightly lowered tuition.

Skidmore is extremely generous with financial aid and the process is simple.

Some people get a lot of financial aid--I have not received any. Also, there are no merit scholarships, which is frustrating.

The financial aid office at Skidmore is extremely helpful and the staff is very friendly. They make applying easy and convenient, and send frequent reminders about upcoming deadlines so no one misses out on reapplying for following years. Students also get paired with a financial aid advisor if they ever need someone to go discuss their financial concerns.
