College Prowler Take
Saratoga is small enough that it does not have much demand for public transportation. The Skidmore bus runs between Moore Hall, campus, and town until approximately 2 a.m. (the schedule changes with each season, check for an updated schedule at the Information Center in Case Center), and is fairly reliable. Downtown is a 10-minute walk away, and most house parties can be reached easily on foot. If you are walking, Skidmore students with cars are sometimes kind enough to offer a ride to freshman or those braving the cold, but be careful. Packing people into a car on laps without seatbelts is not the wisest idea. If you need to get somewhere in a hurry and don’t have a car or bike, taxis are plentiful and inexpensive. They can be found driving down or around Caroline Street without calling, but they are quick to respond when called for a ride. On a big party night, it is nearly impossible to get a taxi. The drivers are like social directors—they know what’s going on and hit the party several times before most students!

Well, I would take the white Skidmore bus into town from Moore. Once on the weekend, it goes to the other side of town like the mall or Wal-Mart, but that is it. If you need to go anywhere else—borrow a car, have a car, or call a taxi and split it with a couple of friends for four bucks. |

There is a Skidmore bus that takes students to the off-campus dorm and stops in town. It becomes a bit of a drunk bus on weekends schlepping students right to the bars. Cabs aren’t hard to come by, but they can get expensive. Go ahead and call (518) 584-2700 and ask for |
