Move over Cheech and Chong, hello SRU. Marijuana is, by far, the most prevalent drug on campus. There is also rumor of harder drugs, such as cocaine, floating around and taking hold of a small minority of the student body. However, it is safe to say that the majority of Slippery Rock students have chosen a drug-free lifestyle and other avenues of entertainment. No matter what university you choose, there will always be a population of drug users.

Though drugs are available and easy to access, the Slippery Rock drug scene is rather tame compared to many other local universities. The majority of students who do decide to participate in the drug scene usually find out the hard way that drugs and academics don’t mix. If you are a user and realize that you have a problem, there is help for you here. Simply visit Old Main’s Counseling Center or McLaughlin Health Center for a confidential appointment and the first step towards recovery.

Nothing Too Bad

Drinking is obvious off campus but it's not entirely bad on campus. Not many people drink on campus because they are very strict and will kick you out.

Unequal Influence

The drug and alcohol usage at Slippery Rock University are far different. I believe the consumption of alcohol on this campus is far more then the use of drugs. As far as pressure from other students to drink, it is rarely heard of. Most people are smart about how they drink here because they don't want to jeopardize there studies. But then again it depends on who you hang out with and if you attend a lot of parties.

Drugs and Alcohol

From what Ive seen there is not much drug use on this campus. It is strict on alcohol though and they enforce all policies very strongly. Some people try to pressure others to drink but it is not too bad.
