| Advice on Finding a Job/Internship | |
Use the Career Development Office resources as much as possible, even as a first-year student. The earlier you ask for help or visit the office to see what the staff can help you with, the better. Career counseling can help you figure out not only what kind of job you might want after you graduate, but also what kind of internships and opportunities might be right for you while in school. The daily workshops to review cover letters and résumés are extremely helpful, and the career center staff doesn't mind looking at several drafts of the same thing. Another important resource is the alumni network, which often posts jobs on the Career Development Office's job search engine.
