Good Financial Aid Packages

Smith has been very generous with their financial aid and has allowed for many less privileged students to attend the costly institution. Once a student has received a Smith Grant and/or students loans and work-study, students need to deal with the Financial Aid Office to complete their tuition payments. That is where some students have found difficulty. Dealing with financial aid is never a joyous experience and students need to fill out BOTH the FAFSA and CollegeBoard Profile beforehand, however, at least obtaining aid (if financially eligible) after the paperwork is complete is very likely.

Amazing Financial System

I received all of the financial aid I needed. The Smith alumni network is amazing and provides grants for students that simply cannot afford an education. There are many resources available for students that need help studying abroad, attending conferences, traveling, paying for books etc.

Advice on Financial Aid

Definitely know the requirements for financial aid at Smith. For example, if you don't apply for aid before being admitted into Smith, you will not be eligible to receive insitutional aid until you complete 64 credits. If you apply on time but don't receive the amount of aid you were expecting, ask that your case be reviewed. The Smith financial aid office is there to help students.
