Liberal Privilege and Wealth

Smith College is supposedly a politically aware campus. Though there are many people who are able to freely express their opinions and morals and beliefs, liberals, atheists, and homosexual sexual orientation are often in the majority. Smith also costs a lot a of money, with very little aid and scholarships available. Therefore, the more wealthy, or those who have access to money, are more advantaged to afford an education. It is proven that undergrad education is associated with wealth- better education is achieved with higher amounts of wealth, and that is often correlated with residential living and race. Though Smith educates its students about the importance of diversity and injustices, students of Smith are the result of lack of diversity. Any diversion from the populous, however, do receive acceptance from peers, thanks to the institutions focus on diversity.

Why Would You Wanna Move Off-Campus?

Our on-campus housing pretty much MAKES the Smith College experience. Most people live in the same house for all four years, so it really becomes like a home. The dorms are spacious, beautiful and cozy, so I can't imagine why anyone would want to live in the few, small off-campus apartments available.

Network Speed Is Subpar

The Smith wired network can be painfully slow during peak usage hours, but it's speedy as anything at 3 a.m. The wireless network is a little better, but not available in all locations on campus.
