The campus network is great. Each student is given a personal laptop with specifically programed for the major's core classes. Any printer on campus is available to the student with just a swipe of the student's ID. The technical center staff is friendly and always willing to help fix what's wrong.

The education I am receiving is well worth the money in my opinion. I am learning a lot of hand on concepts that I will use on an everyday basis if I get a career in my field.

Southeast Tech gives a very straight forward approach to learning. There are not a lot of other activities on campus to distract students from their primary courses. This is expected from a tech school though. I think the school does a good job overall and most of the instructors/personnel are nice and do a great job.

Southeast Tech works with Dakota State University for students that are looking to continue education. It's good to have curriculum that is in conjunction with a very well known school in technology close in the area. I also know quite a few graduates of STI that are able to find jobs easily in the area.

The school does a good job notifying students and professors when the systems will be down, but I don't like some of the technology fees that they charge for students are doing classes online only. It's a very affordable school so I can't really complain. They do make it mandatory to have laptops for certain programs which I like.
College Senior 2013-08-07T16:17:50Z
Southeast Tech does a good job communicating with students, and providing necessary resources. I am giving them an "A" because they are the most affordable school in Sioux Falls with great tools to help people get a job in the area. There are various degree options that they offer, and are split into on-campus, online, and hybrid. I think a lot of people appreciate the flexibility.

The professors are great and know how and what they are teaching

This school is a technical school, so there are not very many sports activities available. The school does however, foster a sense of community by hosting pizza nights and some intramural sports games. There is a great student success center for students that are struggling and there is also a small library, but it is very seldom used by the students.

All of the Alumni and staff members at Southeast Technical Institute are helpful and really do care about the student's success.

I think for the area the school is fairly diverse. I just think it is the lack of diversity in the area itself.

Our school often provides free food for the students which we all love. I also am very happy about the amount of clinical sites offered to us at students going to Radiology. There are many different options.
College Senior 2013-04-15T16:35:36Z
Our school is very involved with using computers. We use a D2L program that I use on a daily basis. It is how I communicate and submit assignments. I am able to access the schedule and my grades at any time. It is great because I am in Clinical and am not able to really meet with my teacher to often.

The school says they have a good job placement rate. I, however, do not know anything of how they place jobs at my school or where I should even begin to look once I am done.
College Senior 2013-04-15T16:31:11Z
They try very hard to get people involved however something things are at strange times in which I am unable to attend.

I'm not too sure if its just the region because I noticed it when I first moved here, but the people seem to be kind of rude. Not all of course and the teachers are very nice but the students seem just rude.
College Senior 2013-04-02T05:19:20Z
I don't really use them regularly myself but the student library is very helpful when researching for projects and papers. Also the library is very helpful because it has a lot of the textbooks that the programs use.

Compared to my other options, Southeast Tech is very cheap and you definitely get what you pay for, a career.

The people in the surgical technology program are always placed so i am very confident i will find a job after graduation.
College Senior 2013-03-12T16:25:27Z
the services are good, about what would be expected from a growing tech school
College Senior 2013-03-12T16:22:14Z
since I go to a tech school, it should be no surprise that there arent a lot of student activities or sports. usually just doing school work to get a degree
College Senior 2013-03-12T16:19:02Z
everyone has their own computers and the wireless is excellent. also the support desk can fix just about any problem

The professors are mostly good. Some of them can be hard to get ahold of if you have questions, but most of them are very easily accessible. The workload is good, not too overwhelming. Registration is pretty easy. All you do is go online and sign up for the classes that you need.

I am not yet into my program, but i have completed all of the required courses to apply for my program. These were not all too hard to complete. Some of them were hard, but with a little studying you can pass with a decent grade.

I have learned so much already, and I am only in my first semester. I feel that being in the working world for the past few years has made things easier for me. Things make moreo sense after you have alraedy excperienced them. All courses I am required to take will tremendously help me in my future career.

Many of the students at STI are also working full time or part time. This includes me, and it makes me feel more comfortable not being around a bunch of kids fresh out of high school that are only here for a good time. I came back to school to learn as much as I can and to further my career and education. SO i very much appreciate the variety of students.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
