Southern Crescent provide students in a library that is actually in the computer lab, so the access to what you need is fairly easy. Our athletic center is less then five years old and all students have access to it.

I am a freshman and attending online classes is different from your traditional classroom setting because you have to actually be discipline to take these courses. The work load is not that heavy, but having to answer or respond to two of your classmates responses can be challenging. The registration for the on line classes was easy but the interaction you would normally get in a tradition class, you don't receive taking online courses.

I would have loved to stay on campus but Southern Crescent does not offer housing. However the online courses makes it easy for me to attend class while holding a full time job. Many would believe that because it's considered a technical school, you would be limited on your major, but you won't be, they offer a wide range of programs for cosmetology to nursing. Southern Crescent also offers the students a chance to join different clubs.

Southern Crescent wireless network works great, I have not had any problems using it in the computer lab or one my personal lap top. My school provides students with only one computer lab which is a minus but they do allow us to print free in the lab. I would have to say that every student may want to invest in a lap top or computer due to those days when the lab is full, i.e. mid term, other then that I think they do a excellent job with their computer network.

I've noticed that the student body is mostly African American. But it is still a very diverse school. I've meet a couple of international students from different counties as well. There's just as many girls is there guys.

We have a beautiful library with every book you can imagine. Our bookstore is nice. But it's nothing to really brag about. I never really hear about any campus activities unless I go on the schools website.
College Freshman 2013-07-31T20:29:01Z
The only problems I ever had with campus resources is when I go home and try to go on certain campus websites. To check my grade or something it usually never works. But whenever I would use it at school it always works.

My school has a free tutoring program that is beyond helpful! Like many people I struggle with math, and being able to meet with not only other students but my teacher whenever I need extra help for no cost at all is a blessing! I am never able to fall beyond in any of my school work because there are so many people who are there ready to help.

I personally would give my school at A+ on post-grad services. This is because a lot of my friends and my oldest sister went to this school and right after they graduated they were all able to find jobs through the school. I feel that this college honestly cares about what happens to their students after graduation. If your'e serious about finding a job, their serious about helping you.

Most of the ethnicity is African American and level of acceptance is average.

Campus activity is average. They post messages regarding upcoming activities on your bannerWeb, so if you check it regularly you will be notified. The library is descent. Wish used books were sold back the same price if they are still in the same condition when bought....

I took online courses several times and love them! To each is own, I study on my own very well and am very organized. The only problem with online courses is that you never see your instructor. He/she rarely answers their phone and sometimes barely responds to emails. But if you are a self-learner then you basically do everything on your own.

Admissions office never answers calls so the best way to get your problem solved is to physically go to the admission's office. The problem with that is that I live 40 minutes away to come in for something that can easily be answered over the phone.

At my school if you show an interest, they will work with you. The career center is there to help use it and they will have benefits for you.

As a single mom who has been out of school for some time Southern Crescent have really worked with me from every step of the way from financial to academics. I would advise any working parent who may be looking for a career change to start here.

The student body at my college handle many obligations while working on attaining a degree. Everyone is very focused and determined.

There are a lot of available computers and high speed wireless internet for our use.

A library is set up convent for students, plenty of space and not hard to find. There's not many athletic centers on campus but there is one off campus that is used. Student life on campus is relaxed, there are no housing facilities on campus.
College Junior 2013-07-02T03:24:29Z
The campus is great to me because it's a small one. I like the fact that the classroom attendance is not as big as others, that way I feel more close to the teachers.

I love all opportunities Southern Crescent Technical School give you to take online courses. I work part-time and have to small children so love the online courses. The professors are great at emailing you back with answers to questions or anything else you need.
College Senior 2013-05-07T20:39:02Z
I am able to use my laptop pretty much anywhere at the school which is handy. And there are many computer labs to go to, the internet speed is good and I have never had any problems. I love that we get free prints at the beginning of each term and using the printers in the library are very easy.
College Senior 2013-05-07T20:36:27Z
The class schedules are very flexible here and there area a lot of online classes that you can do as well. People of all ages come here some who work full time jobs but they are still able to go here. I know that credits can be transferred to the school I plan on going to after SCTC but I am not sure about others.
College Senior 2013-05-07T20:33:38Z
Tuition & Financial Aid:
I feel like the staff is very helpful at SCTC than it would be at a bigger school. You can go to the financial aid office and find out whatever you need to know and they are always willing to help. It is a little hard to get them over the phone or by email but going up to the school and talking to someone.
