Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

No college can escape the scourge of drugs and alcohol. It is an integrated part of the whole college experience. The challenge, on that note, is to regulate the usage so that students are able to safely enjoy their four years of irresponsibility. SMU is similar to every typical college; it has drug users and alcoholics. You can get access to any kind of drug you wish. The most prevalent drugs are marijuana and Adderall. Students typically only use Adderall in moderation, to cram for tests and exams. Another drug you may encounter, by rumors specifically, is cocaine. The coke scene is completely underground—along with all other hardcore drugs. The most blatant drug on campus is alcohol. Every semester there are posters all over campus with statistics and other little factoids to help educate students on drug usage. Other illegal drugs tend to be concealed, and the usage is marginal. Students are more addicted to having fun with their friends at a bar with a few beers, rather than kicking back in an apartment and shooting heroin. On the surface, this campus is drug-free—minus the few stoners and fans of bar specials found on every campus.

Great Safety

Drugs here compared to other schools are very very minimal I went to a The University of Texas @ Austin before I transferred here and there was COKE, E, Xanax, anything you can name. At SMU the safety here is great the worst drug here is WEED but what college doesn't have that present.

Wanna Spend 30 at LSU (Lew Sterrett University; Dallas Jail Name)

Fraternity Boys from rich families that are very academically gifted get bored and to make spending money somehow find coke, adderall and pot to sell via their pledges. Peer pressure is great to do coke via snort or smoke. Those caught that I am aware have been kicked out for good never to return. This type behavior is watched for closely. Alcohol use is rampant however it is monitored closely. Underage drinking is definetely around however kids are nabbed frequently to there dismay. They are written up for this and a letter sent certified to their parents or guardians notifying them of this illegal behavior and the 3 strike policy.
