I think this really has to do with what kind of people you hang out with and what kind of activities you seek out. Yes, there are rich people in Dallas and at SMU, but not everyone who is a student here has loads of money that they look to burn every weekend. There's plenty of laid back, inexpensive ways to entertain yourself on a regular, college student budget!
