College Prowler Take
Gaining the Freshman 15 is an overall fear for all college students. Instead of 15 pounds, it is more likely to be 30 or 40, simply because all of the food off campus is more delectable. Every student has difficulty choosing one particular favorite place to eat. It is much simpler to choose one favorite per genre. Because SMU is located in a posh and hip area, dining off campus can definitely become a bit pricey. Luckily, there are places like Snuffer’s, Café Brazil, Chipotle, Chuy’s, Campisi’s, and several others to balance out the more expensive places. Many students have dined at the Mansion at least once (mainly with their parents or credit card), as well as Nick and Sam’s, Three Forks, or Bob’s Chop House (for excellent steak). Dallas is known to have the best shopping in the country. Normally, if a city features superb shopping, it also showcases dining. Dallas happens to be the home of the best restaurants in the nation. Every type of food can be found here in the heart of Texas. Due to its location, Dallas features exquisite and authentic Mexican cuisine, as well as delicious Tex Mex. Most students eat Mexican at least once a week because of this phenomenon. The possibilities are endless. If there is any hesitation as to where to dine, it will be spurred by an overwhelming list of restaurants. It is easy to become accustomed to a certain taste and specific restaurant, but if you are ever feeling adventurous, Dallas is an immense city to explore.

I love to eat lunch at Central Market, because it has everything, and you can get exactly what you want. Blue Goose is my true pride. I eat there once a week. It is the best ‘Tex Mex’ in Dallas. I love Pei Wei, too, because we don’t have that in San Diego. |

Food off campus is much better than on campus. The Dallas area has many types of food to try and many good restaurants. Two that are a must see: Abacus and Fogo De Chao. |

I mainly eat at Snuffer’s a lot. I can’t really afford off-campus meals, except the 99 cents menu, but that’s the nice thing about Dallas. It can feed me! |
