This school is strict about the things that matter. That is the important thing. Well, except parking, that doesn't need to be as strict as it is.

Architecture is a great major if you enjoy architecture. The education from SPSU is unparalleled to any other. The rigor is high and so is our attrition rate. Our faculty make it fun and push us to new levels every day. A degree in this program from SPSU is highly held in the architectural community.

Professors, curriculum, and registration is great. Enough said. Workload is high. You will spend every waking moment thinking about your architecture classes. You will spend days some times without sleep just to finish all of the assignments.

Parking is great for residents and commuters. However, friends or visitors need to be careful of where they park otherwise they may get a ticket. Tickets are not expensive. You only need a car if you desire to go off campus. We have zipcars on campus to rent temporarily too if needed. Permits are not expensive in comparison to other schools.

We have the worst wireless system I have ever seen and that is sad because this is a technology school. Bring your own router. If you have to print on campus, it is easy, cheap, and fairly hassle free.

I live in some of the nicest housing on campus and can't complain. I have a great roommate and I don't hear much through the walls. I have had, in years past, horrible roommates and loud neighbors too. The spaces are new and modern. More importantly they are cleaned and maintained regularly. Try not to live in Howell, its the oldest, smells, small, and guarantees a bad experience. Anything else would be fine. The school will get about the same amount of money out of you for housing and meal plans however you split it, don't fuss too much.

Guys & Girls:
There are hardly any girls at this school. Don't expect there to be attractive ones either, not to be mean. There is a small percentage of dateable girls on campus. Now beyond the looks, our girls are generally extremely pleasant and easy going. Not stuck up either. There is a broad variety of girls from peppy and preppy to dark and creepy.
My female friends don't appreciate the options of guys at this school, but there is a variety as well from creepy and gross to outgoing jock.

We have great basketball, soccer, and baseball teams. The attendance rate for these events are not high for how good we are. We do not have a football team.

There is a nightlife. I would not recommend anyone to participate in it. The parties are usually lame, there are no bars or clubs worth venturing to, underaged nightlife is up to the individual and their friends. There is not a drunk bus service like some schools have to take them back home, but there is no need for one really.

I am in Architecture. It has been nicknamed archi'torture' because of our workload, but if you enjoy architecture then the work won't matter. The professors are fantastic teachers and people. They are easy to talk to and get assistance from. I have personal relationships with many of my professors, even the none architecture ones. Our program is unique because of the small classes, the rigor, the one on one time, the custom classes, the experienced professors of all backgrounds, and so much more. Our facilities are pleasantly spacious and modern after the first year (still not that bad). A degree from SPSU's Architecture Program is held highly in the Architecture world. We are known for being ready for the job running after graduation.

I have not had any internships or other school affiliated occupations. It would be nice to have one so that it would help pay for a few things education wise. I am unsure of the pay, however I have never heard anyone complain about it.

There is no campus transportation besides a weekly trolley that goes to Walmart or the town square or so. We have zipcars. You or a kind friend needs a car on this campus if you ever want/need anything off campus. The campus is very walkable though.
College Freshman 2013-11-06T06:20:08Z
Health & Safety:
We have campus police, Marietta Police, and Cobb Police that all watch our area. We are very safe. There is an on campus station as well with a cell or two (I have never seen it) if it is needed.

I have lived in Georgia most of my life, so I am used to it by now. However, if you are not from here it may be a shock to have four seasons in one day.
College Freshman 2013-11-06T06:16:03Z
I am in the architecture program here and if i had experienced any other program it would not have been the same. This is a fantastic school and I hope it stays this way or gets even better.

Stingers Restaurant is just about the worst college food that I have ever had. It is fine on open house days or days when there are official tours of campus, but otherwise the food is lacking.

Health & Safety:
I feel comfortable walking on campus at night. The police station is actually on the campus too
College Junior 2013-11-04T20:14:08Z
Everything is here, there just isn't a lot of people that use it
College Junior 2013-11-04T20:12:12Z
The weather is like normal Georgia weather

I'm a transfer student and I believe that I made the best decision to come here. The teachers teach a lot better and the school is small
College Junior 2013-11-04T20:08:57Z
I don't drive, but parking is free
College Junior 2013-11-04T20:07:40Z
All they have is a trolley that goes to Walmart and the Marietta Town Center on Thursdays
College Junior 2013-11-04T20:06:15Z
I don't live on campus, but I don't want to. The cost of a dorm is entirely too much considering the lack of amenities
College Junior 2013-11-04T20:04:26Z
The computers here are up-to-date and provide programs that students don't have to pay for such as Microsoft Office, MathCad, etc.
College Junior 2013-11-04T20:02:23Z
There is not any off-campus housing near the school unless you get a house. The apartments are not very close to the campus except for one and I heard they were not very good
Sorry, there are no reviews.
