The majority is definitely White/Caucasian, but that does not mean we do not welcome other races. We have several different races on our campus including African American, Polynesian, Korean, etc. There is no segregation. We are all friends, no matter the race.
Politically we have both a democratic and a republicans club. Both do well in supporting their members but there are no harsh conflicts.
Religiously, the majority of the school belongs to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, but we warmly accept anyone from any other religion; they are always welcome in our halls.

Very Similar – At Southern Virginia University, most of the students are of the same race, religion, political background, sexual orientation. However, there is a minority that is not, and the students are good at accepting everyone.

Diversity is very limited here at SVU. There are very few people here who are not caucasion and not mormon. Since it is small you see the same people daily and it feels like living in a high school only less diverse. The dining hall does not offer that much variety and the salad bar, which is basically the only part that serves things that I would eat has bugs flying all over it. The places to walk to around here are very limited, there are a few interesting shops in antique buildings down town. The nearest department store is Walmart, a fifteen to twenty minute drive from campus out of town, all other department stores and malls are at other towns that are about an hour drive away. I would say that the good thing about this place is that the police station is infront of campus and another security office in campus. The people are very nice here and small businesses offer convinient services to students such as a haircuts for a very low price. They do not have a track here nor does the fitness area have any trendmills other than a broken one. The area can be a very nice place to run and the hills are very strenghtening.

Genius of Small – Many of the students are white Latter-day Saints. There are different ethnic groups, though they do not make up a large portion, everyone gets along. Political differences are abundant from liberal Democrat to conservative Republican and Libertarian. There are some who have a lot of money and some that are barely making ends meet. Everyone, however, is a family.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
