The convenience has been average for my major of study. I knew I'd have to rearrange my personal schedule for my classes and clinicals, so nothing has been unexpected.

Thus far, my experience has been typical for a school of this type and size. I've seen nothing outstanding. I would choose to go here again because of the convenience.

I've taken one online course at this school, only because I had to. I don't like online courses as there is no interaction with the instructor and other students. You're basically teaching yourself.

The network is good. Speed is excellent. There is a sufficient number of labs. There is wireless.

I don't believe there is much in the way of post-grad services. However, the school does boast an almost perfect placement rate for graduates.

The program is accelerated, and the workload is enormous, but I'm learning all the things I need to know to be effective in my chosen field. The job opportunities in my chosen field are huge.

There are programs for all the currently and future "hot" fields. My school's placement rate after graduation is phenomenal.

Structurally, it is average. There really is no social scene or campus life. The academic program that I'm in is accelerated and fast-paced.

Diversity is really good. Many of the people I come in contact with work. And, of course, many are right out of high school.

There are plenty of computers and places to study.

Workload was ridiculous. Too much reading required, and then really long exams that were set up to take. You would have figured that it would have been easier than coming to class on campus, but I had a lot less free time with online classes. Some of the instructors don't really help out either.

The campus is clean. There are break rooms for students with vending. The library is easily accessible. There are plenty of campus activities offered and there are plenty of promotions for them on their website & posted around campus.

Arranging my class schedule to fit my life has been interesting. This semester was the most frustrating because I did not have many class options availble to me that were relevant to my major because I finished my associates core classes last semester, and I am working on my bachelors core this semester to get it out of the way. Having a afternoon class, then turning around and having to come back 3 hours later for a night class gets frustrating because I don't get to spend much time with my son, and finding a babysitter to watch him for 2hrs for that class is not easy.

Getting to a computer is easy. The only time we have problems accessing the internet is when there is a bad storm that knocks out the power. I prefer having my own personal computer, so I can go anywhere on campus without a problem.

For the most part, my school consists of working-class people with full-time jobs or families. They often juggle many different roles in addition to being students. While they are happy to socialize and make friends, this is not a priority. They are getting an education so they can seek a different life or career.

Post I graduation, I had trouble finding a job in my field. So naturally, I went to the Career Center for help, as it should still be an asset to me post-graduation. However, I was disappointed. I felt like a number, like I was swept under the rug after commencement. It's as if the school's sole focus is to find new fresh and happy faces for their prospective pamphlets.

For the most part my academic experience has been pleasurable. However, I have experience lots of trouble when dealing with teachers from the Literary department.

At Southwest Georgia Technical College I have found the staff to be very helpful and supportive, especially pertaining to finding future job prospects.

HESI's Will Get You Kicked Out – Im a nursing major and although my teachers are great and I seem to learn a lot, HESI's will get you kicked out. Nursing school is hard, but Hesi's are harder. These are test that are given at the end of the semester in which our teacher gives us in which if we dont make a certain score such as a 90 or above we get a zero in the class, and must then retake the course. Two zeros which means you fail two hesi means your out and cannot become a nurse.

Very Great – facilities are great at my school, you are allowed to print for free and every desk has a comptuer with wifi access. All the nursing equipment is up to date and work properlly. I go to a tech school so there are not any athletic centers or gyms, everything is educational.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
