It's fine, I just don't feel like I'm being challenged very much. They accept almost anyone, so sometimes you feel like you're not working to the best of your potential. The teachers are usually very helpful and friendly, though.

For my major (Music) the program is amazing. We're a small school, and small programs like music don't get much money, but the faculty we have are great. I'm not very familiar with other programs, but I know that there are a lot of really good professors, and of course, some not-so-good professors. The good seems to outweigh the bad, though.

I am in the psychology program, and I loved it. All my teachers are very nice, and are always available when I need help. They are also very educated in their work of study.

I came to Southwest because my sister went here and I visited multiple times, and loved it. It has great teacher-student interaction, and also is a small community college.

Majoring in the Arts – The graphic design program at Southwest State Minnesota State University is enjoyable. The teachers communicate easily with the students and often have disscussions about styles of art. The program starts with some basic classes like drawing and painting, then goes into the more advanced graphic design classes. The workload is not overbearing, but pushes you to improve your skills as an artist. You may chose to join the Graphic Design Club or the Art Club for further experience outside of the classroom. Facilities for art are located around campus and there are a few in the dorms as well. The school takes internships seriously and requires every graphic design major to complete one before graduating. Overall the academics for a graphic design major is excellent at Southwest State Minnesota University.
