The dorms on campus are not very large and are not very new. The furniture is very basic. Throughout many of the residence halls the air conditioner has broken several times.

Health & Safety:
There is not much crime on campus. The public safety officers are mainly there to give out tickets, break up parties, and catch underage drinking.

Spring Hill is located in Mobile, Alabama, the rainiest city in the U.S. Point made.
College Freshman 2013-11-19T05:16:16Z
Everything is within walking distance so unless the student is a commuter they should not need a car to get around campus.

The computer labs are equipped with about 40 computers each. Spring Hill has about three or four computer labs and they are all up to date with the latest technology including windows 8 and the latest version of microsoft office. The wifi, on the other hand, is terrible. It is hard to stay connected or to log on to the network. It often shuts down right as I am in the middle of doing something online for class.

Spring Hill is located on Dauphin Street which runs right along Airport Blvd. It takes about 5 minutes to get to Airport Blvd, where there are tons of restaurants for students to dine at.

The rec center is not the best or most equipped rec center but it is available and easy for students living on campus to access. The dorms are not very nice but they are decent. For the amount of money students pay to live on campus every semester the dorms could be better. Java City is a nice place to hang out and drink coffee with other students or to study.

The most unique thing about Spring Hill's campus is the beauty. There is not a single day that someone isn't cutting the grass, blowing leaves, or pulling up and replanting flowers. At this school the teachers are unbelievably helpful and will go out of their way to help students. With it being such a small campus it is easy to make friends and meet new people. I have been informed recently that students that graduate from Spring Hill have a higher chance of getting a job right out of school than other students in the Mobile area because of how prestigious the school is.

There needs to be more parking spots because the commuters are often forced to park in residence parking spots or vice versa because of the lack of availability of parking spots.

At Spring Hill there is a great bit of diversity. The city of Mobile, Alabama, which is where Spring Hill is loccated, is also very diverse. Although the school is a catholic college, the school is not opposed to same sex relationships. In fact one of my professors is married to someone of the same sex. Economically, Spring Hill is mostly known for the high tuition and wealthy families that send their children to Spring Hill but the school offers so many simple scholarships that can cover up to half of a students tuition that the rumor that Spring Hill students and their families are all rich is no longer valid.

Spring Hill is absolutely known for its academics. Being a private school, the teachers are required to teach more rigorous courses in order to live up to the Spring Hill College name. The workload that the teachers pile on are not too bad usually until the student waits until a few days before a paper is due and by then the student has two papers, a test, and a quiz all due on the same day that he or she never expected. Balance is the key to success in college.

As a student at Spring Hill College, we are required to have three Theology and three Philosophy courses before we graduate. In doing this, the school is further expanding our knowledge and forcing us to take on harder classes that will benefit us greatly in the end. The professors at Spring Hill are some of the best teachers a school could have. The teachers are so close with all the students due to the small size of the classes. One on one help with students is very possible at this college. The students success is one of the greatest reasons teachers are so willing to go out of their way to help students.

The dining hall often has the same food. Everyday there is pizza which is often the last resort most students take advantage of when nothing else looks tasty, which is often.

Getting financial aid at Spring Hill is very easy. After applying and being accepted to the school, the students are automatically looked at for scholarships and any other financial need. Being a student who's parents can afford the school but want their child to take on some responsibility of the payments, may need more financial aid. However, when looking at financial need the school does not look at the need of the student, only of the parent. This, in my opinion, is unfair.

The students that are involved in Greek Life at Spring Hill are the most respectful individuals you will meet. They are not the typical Frat and Sorority kids. They are involved in so many volunteer and helpful things on and off campus.

Green spaces are awesome! Lots of great places to study outdoors and lots of places to discover. You have to see them all for yourself to understand the beauty!

I'm originally from Charleston. Although it gets very humid there, it doesn't rain as much and as random as here in Mobile. But when we have sunny days it is a great time to go out and enjoy the campus nature!

Some buildings may be in need of renovation. But it is part of the beauty of Spring Hill, the fact that we have building from multiple periods adds to the value and the experience of the college. Overall well kept.

There is a 0 tolorance on hazing. As far as alcohol goes, we are a wet campus. That being said I think the college takes a good aproach to the situation. While it is hard to track down everyone who is drinking, and it is illigal for underage drinking, some students still do it. While the college can't always catch everyone they do a great job at informing all of their students on the hazards and dangers of alcohol if consumed in excess and without care. Through multiple steps and events students grasp a good idea of how to drink and be safe if they choose to do so. However, if caught and underage you will face consequenses. Parking strictness not too bad. Overall students are great and chill.

Overall most of the dorms are very well kept. As a Freshman I lived in the learning communites and the bathrooms were always very clean! (We were 7 guys sharing 2 bathrooms) Great view to the downtown area. I currently live in New Hall which is suite style living and the rooms are well kept. I have to say that they are all bigger than any other college I visited my senior year of highschool.

If you want to find alcohol you won't have to look far. It's pretty prevalent. Drugs are less prevalent and it's mostly pot. Public Safety will not hesitate to right you up though, so if you decide to partake, be smart.

I live in Viragh and just in the first week I had to have maintenance out to fix my door twice, and the a/c once, we also had an unexplained fire alarm. The appliances only work in the downstairs kitchen, and there are ants in the rooms. That said, I love the pod style living, and have a good community of friends here. The rooms are decently sized, and the bathrooms are kept clean, and as long as you don't try to do it on the weekends, the laundry room isn't super crowded. There's always parking. It does stay pretty quiet in Viragh even on the weekends. If you want to go to a party you go somewhere else. But at least you get some sleep.

Parking in campus is easy especially compared to most big colleges. Anywhere you park here is relatively close to where you need to go.

There are always a lot if options including vegetarian options. I never leave disappointed or still hungry.

I got the graphic Design major fairly easy. However, I just switched my major to Studio Art because I have a tough time with computers. If you enjoy art and color and design and can learn computer skills quickly, then Graphic Design is good choice for you. If you prefer the more traditional methods, than go with Studio.
