One thing that I can be proud of St. Kate's is that we are a very diverse population. I believe that our school community value diversity. Since we are an all girls school we do respect people's sexual orientation and we are a community that accepts it. If anything, I wish other schools and colleges were more welcoming and diverse as ours.

We are right by St. Thomas and MAC but we do not associate a lot with them. We have the ACTC bus and all but I wish we did more events with them because we are an all girls college. Sometimes there will be ACTC students on campus but we don't interact much and they don't really know much about our campus.

There isn't a lot of parties, bars and nightlife at St. Kate's. I'm pretty sure you can find a little bar or something around the area but I'm not familiar with any. I wish that we did provide shuttles and buses to students though just so our students can come back safely from a night of drinking. The best way to get off of campus is to have a designated driver or to call a cab.

I can't really rate off campus housing because I have no idea where I can even find anything. The school doesn't help student find off-campus housing probably because they want most students to stay home campus. I also do not know many people who lives off-campus at an apartment that is close to campus.

There aren't a lot of spots for people to study especially commuters. The CDC is pretty much empty once it's dark outside. The recreation center is okay, but I think they could expand it more. The library can be kind of creepy but they have small spots for people to study but it's not opened for long. We have a student center but I barely know what it is. I've seen it before but they don't really reach out to the student community.

I definitely HATE the dining services on campus. I mean yeah, sometimes they have healthy options such as fruits or a salad bar but they do a horrible job at keeping things fresh. The greens and veggies at the salad bar are all dead, fruits seems like they've been sitting out for a while and the rest of the food they have are just plain greasy! Also, the dining room closes at certain hours while the Pulse opens up. But it gets so busy at the Pulse that commuters like me who has to catch the shuttle, have to wait 15 mins just to buy an already made sandwich.

There's not much off-campus but Jimmy Johns an Cleveland Wok is pretty popular. There's also a Menchie's here too that a lot of people go to. I haven't really explored the off campus dining but I know at night it gets pretty busy. I can't say that it's bad but I can't also say that it's good.

Guys & Girls:
St. Kate's is an all women's college so we don't get to see any guys very much. You would think that the girl on campus are very "catty" or gossip a lot but they are quite friendly and easy to get a long with! I love how friendly our campus is, even if you don't know a person and they walk past you, it's normal to give a smile or say hi. There isn't a lot of parties on campus but sometimes there will be small events such as movies and stuff.
College Senior 2013-10-29T17:05:18Z
There are not a lot of spaces for commuters to park their car. I mean, there are already a lot of people living on campus that has cars so us commuters are left with the spots that are far away. Parking permits are also very expensive!! But we have no choice but to purchase them because there are parts on the street where you have to have parking permits too or else there are very limited areas where you can park without a permit (plus they are far!).

I haven't heard any complaints about public safety and the use of alcohol and drugs on campus but I have heard a lot about them giving out parking tickets! But, it isn't our fault that the school doesn't make enough parking for everyone and I don't understand why we have to have guest permits or even permits at all! The public safety here is very slow on things and whenever they are called to a scene, they take forever.

Again, as a Public Health major I am extremely happy with my program. Our community is small so it's so easy to bond with each other and the teachers. There aren't a lot of teachers also which is a good thing because multiple classes are taught by one professor so it's easy to have a connection with them. At first I was jumping from major to major and I can say now that the Public Health major is the right place for me!

I haven't don't my internship yet but I heard that many internships were unpaid and very time committed. I guess if you are lucky enough, you will be able to find one that is willing to pay you. I know some of my friends who are at their internship probably almost 40 hours a week and don't get paid a single penny. I know that having an internship is good for your future but how can we afford to pay our student loans and bills if we're investing all our time at an unpaid internship? I also heard that some departments don't do a good job with helping students look for internships.

For sure we all know that St. Kate's campus is very old! The freshmen dorms wasn't so bad but it could use some remodeling. The other dorms for upper classmates are far better and looks much nicer. I would recommend living in the apartments though even though it is farther than the other dorms. The apartments makes you feel like you're off campus when you're actually on campus.

Financial aid can be very frustrating since Saint Catherine is very expensive. I recommend to always talk to your financial aid counselor to see if there are any other ways to get alternative loans. The financial aid office does a great job emailing you about papers that you need to turn in. Financial aid counselors are also very good about making appointments and giving you the help that you need.

As a Public Health major at Saint Catherine University, I am in love with the program and curriculum including all the facilities. I would give the program an A+ but the only thing is that most classes are at St. Thomas so you will have to do a lot of traveling back and forth. Overall, the classes are amazing and so interesting! Teachers are also very caring and flexible probably because there is not a big community of public health majors so it's easy to get to know one another.

At Saint Catherine University, the teachers are very caring and helpful. Most of them have open hours where you can go talk to them about any homework or class work. I struggled with classes the first time I came here as a Freshmen and was too shy to ask for help. Thanks to my professors, they were actually the ones who approached me and set up time to give me one to one lessons. I love how they make extra time just to help me pass their class!

There's the highland village which overs restaurants, bookstores and various other small shops. There's a mini pond on campus within the gates and outside the gates if you wander far enough, there's Minnehaha falls, which is a pretty nice park.
Locals are friendly and walk their pets on campus all the time.

It snows alot here and most of the time parking is far so you have to walk in the snow a fairly long distance. They rarely cancel classes because of the snow. Not to mention that they will tow your car if its a snow emergency.

The St. Catherine Minneapolis Campus is no located in a very safe part of Minneapolis. I wouldn't recommend going to the clubs out here.
College Sophomore 2013-10-13T20:26:34Z
This school doesn't have a nightlife. After 7pm you will hardly find anyone even out walking around. There are no parties and the closest clubs are not very clean or safe. If you are looking for a nightlife, you will have to go to a different school on the weekends.

The Residence Hall Association is very strict about polices. RA's are held to very high standards and are not able to be lenient for risk of losing their position. No guests are allowed to be unattended in the halls. This means that if you live in a dorm without bathrooms you have to walk your guests to the bathroom. Also, if you are caught with drugs on campus you will be kicked out of student housing and not even allowed to return as someone's guest.

The computers in the lab are not completely outdated. They have older Dell's and Gateway's for you to use. They are grouped in 6 sets around the various class rooms for you to use. The software was up to date and all the search engines and web sites pulled up easily and with out a lot of time lag. I still think it would be good for you to have your own laptop or home computer to store your information and assignments on for your own personal use.

I am currently enrolled in the Spring semester for Radiology Technology. The application process is long and drawn out but the informational session that I attended was very helpful and the admissions advisors are very good at helping answer any and all of your questions you may have. They are a good resource to use to help you make the next decision in your future educational needs.

Coming onto campus, the parking is near the Mississippi River and located near a park. The Library is near a eclectic brick building surrounded by a small garden and some large oak trees for shade. The campus is conveniently located right off of highway 94. The over all experience is relaxed and inviting.
College Junior 2013-09-28T21:19:57Z
Parking tickets are well enforced, as are noise violations, but if you don't cause any trouble, there's not much drama made about it.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
