Austin is truly a quintessential college town—it’s laid-back, beautiful, and always offers its residents something new and exciting to do. Students at St. Ed's are really lucky because the school is situated in the trendy South Congress neighborhood, just a bike ride away from countless shops and restaurants. Austin is also home to the University of Texas—it’s about a 12-minute drive from St. Ed's—so city is accustomed to being home to thousands of college students, and students and the local population seem to merge quite easily. Austinites are some of the friendliest and interesting people you'll meet.
There is so much to do in the city on any given day of the week, whether it is kayaking in Lady Bird Lake, grabbing Tex-Mex with a friend, or catching a movie at the Alamo Drafthouse. Students are also five minutes from the Austin City Limits music festival in the fall, and they have access to hundreds of free shows at South by Southwest every March. The University's prime location in the middle of the city is no doubt a crucial reason why many students choose to attend this school, and it rarely disappoints.
