Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The quality of food is supposed to be an important aspect of campus life, but it seems as though the menu selections are limited and prices are on the steep side. Many students seem to find reasonably-priced meals at Taco Bell and the regular burgers at Burger King. The food tends to be good, but gets tiresome after awhile because the selection is basically the same. Also, in the undergraduate dining halls, such as Marillac, UC, or Montgoris, the food seems to be tilted toward fast food as opposed to quality meals. Everyone will agree that Law School food is the best and is healthier. The busiest time to attend the dining halls are lunch time, naturally, from 12 p.m.–1 p.m. Commuter students should add money to their card and try not to pay with cash because that will eliminate the tax (which will add up), saving money in the end.

Resident students have to get a meal plan and might as well make the best of it. Try to mix up your meals and eat at a variety of on-campus selections. And by all means, head to the Law School. It’s practically universally agreed that the Law School serves up the best grub.

It's Getting Better

The options on campus are okay, and it's obvious that the school is trying to increase the variety of dining on campus, particularly for health-conscious students. However, the food is extremely expensive.

Excellent

There are many places to eat around campus. Sometimes I think there are too many places to eat. I can honestly say the food variety is superb. Whenever I feel like Montigoris is getting to bland, I can always get a snack from the many sources around campus.

Good ENOUGH to Eat.

On campus dining isn't HORRIBLE, it's just very expensive for the quality that they provide. If you have a meal plan and you can go to Montgoris you're fine, unless of course you happen to go when they're doing reset, then you'd be lucky to get warm fries. The best thing about having a meal plan would have to be the meal exchanges. Twice a day you can choose from a variety of options such as Boars head sandwiches or Burger King and they count toward your meal plan instead of directly out of your pocket. There are late night options (i.e, the C-Store or St. Vinny's) but they are also very expensive.
