Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The on-campus housing rooms are nice, and they have a lot of recreation accommodations within the dormitories. The best thing about the dorms is that every room has one or two bathrooms that only have to be shared by a few people, so instead of competing with 30 or 40 students for a shower, you only have to work with eight or nine. Residents can even control their own heating and air conditioning. The two main problems with on-campus housing are getting the room you requested and actually getting a room at all. Upperclassmen compete for housing using a point system that is based on GPA and judicial infractions as well as class standing. Those with lo grades or many judicial infractions may not be able to live on campus. Also, many students who request a single will get a double, and those that request a double will most likely get a triple.

St. John’s should invest more money building new dormitories. It is not fair that they are leaving many upperclassmen to fend for themselves on housing, especially if the student does not live in close proximity to the school. They are losing a lot of students because of the housing situation. Even if they are not able to build more dormitories, they should try to accommodate students more.

Pretty Great Housing

The freshmen dorms are HUGE. I was expecting to be all cramped up but nah. These rooms are big. Three twin beds, three desks with three chairs, three pieces of furniture for clothes, and a closet. In my room we took down the bunk bed and have our three beds as single and there's still a lot of room. For freshmen I most definitely recommend St. Vincent's Hall.

Worst

Housing on campus is the worst thing ever. The rules are strict signing people in from outside of campus and also people who live in other dorms. They have to sign in by a certain time and leave by a certain time. Everything is inconvenient.

Available for Rent

Cecil Distributors provides free delivery and pickup, so you can avoid the hassles of transporting heavy appliances to and from school. There are no repair worries; if anything goes wrong, Cecil will fix or replace the unit. The best thing is that it has a low rental fee. Share the cost with your roommate(s), and each of you could pay as little as $2.20 per week. Or select Option #2 and rent the refrigerator/freezer unit without the microwave option. Options #3 and #4 offer single semester rentals for the Hot/Cold and refrigerator/freezer units.

The Hot/Cold is a combination refrigerator, freezer, and microwave designed for college students.

Cleaning Service

Not available unless ordered privately. Housekeeping is only responsible for public areas
