Quick Stats
Best Place to Take Your ParentsCollege Prowler Take
Food prices off campus are more reasonable than on campus. The food choices are very delicious and served swiftly. Also, there are a lot more selections than on campus. Go to Vincenzo’s for pizza because the food is prepared fresh, and the BBQ pizza is the best. The number one thing, especially for resident students, is that they are usually open late and will deliver to the resident village. In the area surrounding the St. John’s campus, there’s a healthy selection of choices. For the more adventurous students, Manhattan and the rest of New York City offer limitless possibilities of food. From Thai to Cuban, Mexican to Italian, the city has it all. Considering the top complaint against on-campus eating is that it is unbearably repetitive, the wide variety of city eateries should come as a breath of fresh air. Again, though, the distance can get in the way of getting a quick meal, and not everyone can afford to ride the subway everyday.

The off-campus food seems to be just diners and delis; I hope you like beers and bagels because that is basically what your selection is. |

The off-campus dining is not...
The off-campus dining is not really that good, the Fame Diner is a bit pricey and not that great. The pizza place down the block is pretty good, and the Chinese place is average. There is no food place that is spectacular around here, unless you are dining in the city. |

There are some Indian, Chinese, and Japanese restaurants that people talk about. There are several fast food restaurants, too. I mostly eat on campus, though. |

Most of the restaurants off campus are pretty good. But, if you have a little extra time, it’s worth it to go into the city to have dinner. It is worth the commute because you will have a wide variety of foods that caters to all cultures. |

The food does taste good, but I can deal with the on-campus food; they are about the same price, and the on-campus food is not that horrible. The off-campus food does have more selections, though. |
