Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

St. John’s has its ups and downs, but most students agree, sometimes reluctantly, that the bad outweighs the good. Some argue that with the high tuition cost, students should receive better student services and facilities. The school’s motto is, “We are St. John’s,” but does the administration listen when students speak? The school needs more dorm rooms, better computers, and more people ready to help students instead of giving them the runaround or transferring their calls to someone else. These things are not luxuries, but rather necessities to keep the students and the institution running smoothly.

Going to St. John’s is a good experience, and the name only seems to impress many people, which is a good trademark to use in the workforce. The overwhelming majority of teachers cares about its students. Check out St. John’s extensively before attending to see if it can meet your needs, especially monetary-wise. In 1870, when St. John’s was founded by the Vincentian community, it was supposed to be an answer for the poor students who couldn’t afford schooling; now many feel SJU is making the students poor. The costs are going up each year, but the financial aid is basically staying the same, making it hard for students to attend because of the lack of funding. Explore it for yourself. There’s plenty to enjoy and benefit from, but don’t get caught up in hype.

I Wouldn't Be Anywhere Else

At first I thought I would have already transferred by now, but I learned to love this experience and made a lot of friends. This is a great school for people who have never been presented with a mixture of cultures and peoples.

I've Come to Love It

At first it was hard to get used to but being an international student i realized that STJ really did their best at making us comfortable in the new surrondings we found ourselves in. After 3 years of being in this school I have plenty of pride for my Uni and I dont think I could see myself flourishing in any other school. This school is close to the city and close to the burbs and beach...you coudlnt ask fro a better location.

St Johns Is Great!

So far, I have enjoyed my experience at St Johns. Its a great school, people are friendly and its very diverse. The only thing I wish I could change at St Johns, would be the sign in policy. If you have family or friends visiting from out of town, you should be able to sign them in for more than 3 nights, especially if they are coming from a far place like out of America.
