Computer Labs Are Easy to Use

There are many computer labs all over campus so it really is not hard to find one. Usually it is easy to find a computer because people only use them to print their work out, so if you did have to wait it wouldn't be more then 2-5 minutes in each of the labs. Each student is given a laptop and WiFi is all around campus.

Big and Small

My school is actually pretty big, but you can't tell from the amount of student leaders. It's surprisingly easy to become even president of student government if you wish to, many students just don't take a look at the opportunity. For those students who wish to be involved, there is a small campus feel in this commuter school.

Safety on Campus

Gated community and very safe. Sometimes security will be more strict than they need to be.

Athletic Centers, Library, Food Courts

Overall, the amenities at St. John's are great and of high quality. Athletic Centers are of top of the line quality and are made easily available. Library is heavenly and very resourceful - A place that really aids its intended purpose and is never overcrowded. The wi-fi system often gives connecting problems in some areas f campus, but generally works well. The food courts are clean and carry a pleasant atmosphere although there are limited and some rather expensive options.

A Wide Variety.

St. Johns is a very racially and economically diverse university. The vast majoriety is, of course, catholic but other religions are well accepted.

Nice Gym and Basketball Courts

Nice and clean. Open majority hours of the day. In great condition.

Nothing Exciting

Very residental, but Manhattan is just a subway trip away. Local cheap shops are right around the corner very convient. Stay away from the little local bars/nightclubs pure ratchetness!!!!!!!

Safe on Campus for the Most Part

The campus is relatively safe within the gates. After you leave the campus the nearby area is dangerous. St johns public safety officers do not patrol the immediate area outside the gates.

Pretty Great Housing

The freshmen dorms are HUGE. I was expecting to be all cramped up but nah. These rooms are big. Three twin beds, three desks with three chairs, three pieces of furniture for clothes, and a closet. In my room we took down the bunk bed and have our three beds as single and there's still a lot of room. For freshmen I most definitely recommend St. Vincent's Hall.

So Diverse

You can find anyone you'd like at this school. White, Black, Asian, Latino, Middle Eastern, the list goes on.

Unfair

I did not receive any financial aid because of the amount of money my parents make. Some people at this school have their whole school paid for and it makes me angry.

Campus Life

There are many opportunities here at St John's that set it apart from other schools. The numerous activities can keep a person enjoying their time while at school.

Campus Life

St. John's has so much to offer. There is Greek Life, Clubs, Choirs, and so much more! There are so many things that can be done and can still be created if you come out and recommend it.

Fianacial Aid Sucks

They will give out fianacial aid, if you're poor or intelligent....but if you're stupid, mediocre, average in intelligence, or lower middle class, middle class, or upper middle class of higher you won't be getting much if anything. And for the intelligent people, and even some of the impovershed....theres a fair chance they'll take away your aid within two to three years. They tend to wait until you're a few years in so you're obligated to stay.

Diversity

Very Diverse...but frankly, who really cares? Colleges put a lot of attention into diversity, but for no real reason. Most people 18-22 can get along with anyone, regardless of their backround...but St. John's "Prides" itself in diversity, you'll see it in every pamphlet, and poster

St. John's Public Safety

St. John's University probably has one of the most secure campuses in the United States. There must be hundreds of cameras spread out, both outside and inside all the buildings, and public safety is constantly patroling. We have emergency phones what seems like every five feet. After 11pm they lock all the gates except two, and have guards posted at each enterance until the morning. Every dorm has its own public safety officer at the enterance. There are crimes a few blocks away that occur fairly frequently (muggings, assaults) but as far as campus property, there's no place safer. I know girls who walk around at 3am on campus and feel 100% safe.

Violations

It is very easy to get a violation. You do one thing wrong and you will get a violation. The signing in and signing out of the dorms is really annoying. If you get a violation, it stays and on top of that you have to pay a fine or do community service. It is one of the worst schools out there by far.

Sucks

The food is very expensive wherever you go compared to the quality of the food. If you are a commuter, forget about buying food on campus.

Parties

If you don't go to Manhattan then you will be so over the night life close to campus. There is not that many bars and no clubs are really that close.

Diversity

There is so much diversity on campus that everyone can find a place to fit in, and for those who really dont want to fit anywhere they are not forced to do so.

Dining Halls

With the recent changes there is a lot of options when it comes to food, the one problem are the prices. Everything is so expensive, so it is worth getting off campus and guying the same food for less.

Free Stuff

Although the tuition is really expensive, there's a lot of opportunities to get free stuff. There are events every week, if not everyday, where they offer something or give something out for free. Since SJU is big on school spirit, when there are games and other events, they tend to give out free t-shirts, free food, or other free junk. One of the weekly things that I like the most, are Java Johnnies which take place every Friday where there's free Dunkin' Donuts coffee, hot chocolate, and donuts for everyone with an SJU ID Card.

Right Next to NYC

Since we are right next to NYC most students are always there for the weekeends and any other time off they have.

There Is Everything

There are buses, and shuttles, and public safety, subways, and airports, and plenty of ways to get around.

You Can Get, If You Want

If you like drugs then you will be exposed to it and beable to get it, but if you dont like drugs then you can definitely avoid it by all means.
