Bioe/BME

Bioengineering was originally only for graduate students, so it is a pretty difficult major for undergrads. Biomechanical engineering here is a lot like BioE, but there is not as much involvement with the School of Medicine :/.

Very Diverse in All Aspects

The students at Stanford come from all backgrounds. They vary greatly in race, religion, political views, economic backgrounds, and sexual orientations. Stanford also has centers and clubs for the various groups where you can choose to really connect to others who are similar to you. You can also be a member of such clubs and organizations if you do not relate to the group's ethnicity/religion/etc. (e.g. My room mate is a Haitian American who is a member of our Japanese drumming team).

Get to the Single

Campus housing around Stanford is not bad. There isn't really much to complain about, but there isn't anything to rave about either. All-in-all, the most important things are getting a single or two-room double.
