There is a student resource center, a library, and computer labs, but there are no gyms. All we have are soccer fields and a volleyball court.

With it being a 2 year college, there was a large variety of people who attended. They were friendly and had different perspectives and experiences from their lives.

With it being a community college, it didn't have as many choices or as large a network for future careers and such.

I chose this school because I knew I could get a two year degree and then transfer into North Carolina State. It was cheaper to do this, and I also think that it will help me prepare for a four year university. I'll be finished this semester and overall, it was a good school for transferring out of.

When I was in English 095, my teacher had everyone in the class team up and write an group essay. The worst part is that this is the first year she tried it out. I understand that its a project and everyone suppose to do there part in this project, but two people in my group just didn't want to do it because they didn't understand this project. Also, another bad part about this is that she had to leave on an early maternity leave. So, we had another Professor teaching the rest of the semester which she treated us like high school students. Also, this Professor didn't really understand the project, so she wasn't a help either. I'm not using this as an excuse of why I have this grade, but it would have been helpful if the Professor was there for us when we needed her help.

The Staff Is Very Welcoming – I am just begining college at the age of 32. I have had so may questions and felt so lost. The staff at Stanly Community College has been so helpful. They pointed me in the right direction as to registering for classes and obtaining my transcripts.

Student Success Center – The student success center would be the most helpful resource that Stanly has because there are always people in there that are willing to help tutor you. Also, you are able to print anything that you want regardless of how many pages it is.

Good Wireless Access – The wireless access at Stanly is pretty good. We rarely have times where the access goes down and isn't working for some time. Also, our classes are recorded for later viewing and we rarely have problems accessing the videos later on.

Good Resources – The resources at Stanly are pretty good. I especially like the student success center because they allow you to print anything you need in there. Also, there are plenty of computers open for you to get on and research topics for your classes.

Good Tutoring Access – This school has multiple people who are willing to tutor anyone who is struggling in their classes. Also, they have students who are available to help also.

Have a Plan- Figure Out What Will Transer. the Rest Is Flexible – I have been able to sit down with a faculty member who would be able to tell me what i still need to take, give me a list of classes to fill those requirements, tell me what teachers would be teaching those classes, and even tell me when those classes would be. I could sit down, pick a class, pick a teacher, and pick a class time. If one class wouldn't fit in my schedule, which was rare, I could simply take something else. It was always a good idea to look at the college I wanted to transfer to- to see what would transfer as what and fill what requirement- BIO111 would transfer as BIO... and fill a Bio requirement at my next college. This is a community college, so most of the classes will transfer.

It All Depends on the Teacher and Setup – My brother and I took the same class but with different teachers. It was a technical writing class. He struggled to get in touch with her, to get questions answered, and she would count off a lot for small mistakes. My teacher, however, always answered questions within a day or two, answered them well, and was pretty lenient as long as you put forth the effort and had good work. I loved that class. Also, I took another online class. Even though the teacher was nice, the setup for the class and how it worked was confusing. It took me a while to figure everything out- like where was the book, what did I have to read, where do I turn in my assignment- because there were so many facets to the setup. Yet another class I had also had a nice teacher AND a great setup. My work was right there- all on one webpage. All I needed to do was click on a link under this week's work and it would take me to my assignment. Any additional resources I needed where there to- as well as a place to turn in my work. So like I say- what makes or breaks a class isn't necessarily how hard the work was- it's mainly about the teacher you get and how the class is set up.

Hard Workers – Most of the students there either work full time or are on the sports team of some sort. There are a few slackers, but where aren't there?

Why I Would Not Choose My School Again – I would not choose my school again because I feel like I'm missing out on the whole college experience. My school also doesnt seem to challenge me.

The clubs at the school always come together to create ways in helping people in need. Its not just one but many different types that socialize with one another in other careers.

Online Classes – Online class seem to be more convent and competive because you dont have to rush through objectives and manage time. It very helpful if the school closes due to a storm in the winter or not having away to school.
