Sterling College is such a wonderful place. The people here are genuine, and they are, for the most part, centered on Christ. The College does a great job at giving students things to do - there is always something going on!

Sterling is a small town; therefore, you may have to go to a town eight miles north to find what your looking for! A lot of people go on late night trips to Hutchinson, which is twenty miles away. It's a decent sized city and has pretty much everything!

There is not any transportation available because everything is within walking distance. If you decide you need to drive somewhere, there is no traffic, so stress levels stay low.

The food and dining options at Sterling College are great. They cooks offer a variety of foods throughout the week and each day there are tons of things to choose from! There is pizza bar every day at lunch, a salad bar, a sandwich bar, a main dish and vegetable, and another main dish - and there is always ice cream! Breakfasts are delish as well. The caff is open from 9 p.m. until 11 p.m. Monday through Friday for those who enjoy late night snacks! Overall, Sterling's food and dining plan have not given any reason for me to complain.

I would guess that over 50% of the students on campus are athletes.

I love my school and wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
College Sophomore 2013-11-01T19:00:51Z
There is none. The campus is super tiny.

The option is really not there. Almost everyone lives in the dorms.

For the most part the drug scene at Sterling College is low, it is an alcohol and drug free campus so there are fines and consequences if it is found on campus. There are some issues with tobacco alcohol and marijuana at times but not too bad.

I am an elementary education major at Sterling College the program is in the middle of a transition period with some new professors. Some of the classes were a little rocky, but for the most part I have been satisfied with what I have learned. We do a lot of in classroom observations and teaching lessons. I think that is the best way to learn how to be a teacher. Something that is really great about Sterling College is how small the classes are you can really get to know your professors and they genuinely care how you do in the class.

Sterling is a very small town so there is no public transportation. If students don't have a vehicle it isn't too much of a problem, if you need to go somewhere in town you can walk. If you want to go out of town you can hitch a ride with a friend. Good thing is, people are really friendly here so you can make friends easily.

It does snow a little bit here and we have had three snow days here so it is easy to get behind in our classes because of the days off. It is also just very depressing being in the cold all of the time.

Since it is a christian college there are not a lot of parties going on. It is also a very small town so not a lot goes on, but there are towns that you can drive to if you want to get away and have some fun. You can always make your own fun though if you don't want to go anywhere.

The school is really expensive and the scholarships are just not enough. My father is out of work and I still didn't even qualify for financial aid. Something needs to change for how expensive the school is.
College Sophomore 2013-04-07T21:23:07Z
There is not much under the categories of attractions, activities, shopping, or recreation, but we make our own fun! I love this tiny town and I wouldn't want it any other way.

The financial aid is very helpful here. However, everything is so expensive!

Sterling is a small town community. The only well known restaurant is Subway. Otherwise there are locally owned restaurants like Jethro's. If you want anything after 9 pm you have to go to the local gas station, it's the only thing open.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
