Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The overall experience of Stetson University can be described as intimate. The campus itself isn’t big, so of course that has its pros and cons. The pros are the fact that students get to know one another well, and finding and walking to classes is easy. Of course, if it’s a really rainy or hot day, then it can be a hassle. However, with a small campus, students are able to get to know their professors well, which is great. On the downside, if you miss a class, the professor will notice. Some professors here will curve grades based on attendance. Another contributing factor of the overall experience is the small class size. Small class sizes are nice for those who like it, but they correlate with a higher tuition rate. I feel that for every pro, there is a con of some sort. The overall experience will differ for each student. Some move on to other universities; others like it here and stay. It all comes down to whether a student will take the good with the bad. I can say for myself that, since Stetson is always looking to improve, they will listen. Since they will listen, the bad things about Stetson become tolerable and make it a decent school all around. Plus, the location of the University is pretty good since it’s located between Orlando and Daytona Beach. The best advice for anyone interested in attending Stetson is that it’s important to get to know the University a little bit by coming here, doing the tour, and most importantly, talking to the current students. That will make things a heck of a lot easier in deciding whether Stetson is the place for you.

Deland Is All Around Great!

Stetson is walking distance to Downtown where you'll find a large number of restaurants and other cool places to hang out, shop, whatever. A lot of the downtown shops and restaurants and other nearby spots offer a Stetson discount. Mainstreet Grill, Taco Amigo, Tops China, and so many more are either walking distance or a very short drive from campus. have reasonable prices and value students and their business.

Great!

The facilities on campus at Stetson University are great. The staff works hard to keep them looking great and the students show great appreciation. The student center and library have great resources for all students to use and the staff are helpful as well. The Hollis Center has great work-out equipment as well as a year-round heated pool!!!

Stetson Computers = Easy and Fast

The printers and computers are all really fast and really efficient. All computers are quick, never freeze and there are plenty labs around school to where you should never have trouble finding one open, unless it is finals week in which case you might want to have your laptop handy. Printing is easy, especially in the library, and your technology fee covers it all so don't worry if your teacher makes you print tons. Also, just as a side note, all printers print double-sided as Stetson is attempting to become a greener campus and this draws a lot of admiration and helps Stetson stay on top with innovation and leading the way to a more eco0friendly system.
