Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Stetson really cares about its athletics, especially basketball. During the season, students can check out games and become involved. But, not all sports share the same support. For the most part, only certain sports get attention. Other sports teams, such as crew, tennis, and soccer, receive less funding and support. The good thing about the athletics here, however, is that the teams themselves share a lot of pride. With that pride, there is a good amount of sports to choose from if someone wanted to join or just be a spectator. As a student, the amount of involvement in athletics is entirely up to you. At times it’s difficult to find time to support teams due to classwork, work itself, and any involvement in clubs or Greek life. Occasionally, there will be a big push for games, and the University will manage to pull in thousands of people to the event. But, this is a once-a-year event, not an everyday occurrence. In terms of athletic facilities, the fields and courts are well maintained. There is almost always someone on the soccer fields whether they are just tossing a ball around or practicing for a game. The facilities also keep hours that mesh well with students’ schedules, which allows them to workout outside of the team practices.

stetson currently doesn't have very many sports teams. There is basketball, soccer, softball, and lacrosse. those area at least the ones i know of But stetson will be starting a football team next year. school spirit is decent. However there is a really nice gym facility for student that is free for us to used and they also have group classes like zumba and spinning.

Unsure

Because this is a law school, we do not have a athletics program like undergrad schools. There are a few small intramural leagues for tennis, soccer, football, etc. However, I am not sure how much fan support, school spirit is involved. I think it is really just the people who play that are involved.

School Spirit

The school spirit at Stetson is mediocre. It’s not too strong, but it’s not absent. Students are constantly wearing Stetson gear, and there is a decent turnout to the games. There is more school spirit if you’re involved in Greek life.

Getting Tickets

It is rather easy to get tickets to Stetson athletic events. Visit the Hollis Center front desk to purchase the reasonably priced tickets. For most games, unless it’s a special event, tickets are free to students.

Best Place to Take a Walk

Just walking around on campus is nice. If you stay near the Quad, you can see all the lights from the fountain and just relax.
