Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

To say the least, people here do not like the fact that there is a horrible selection of on-campus dining. In the defense of Stetson, it’s a small campus, and they feel that three serving facilities is adequate. Of course as a student, we know otherwise. There must be selection. What I hope for are some needed improvements on selection, and the dumping of bad menu items. After a while, most students decide to not get a meal plan and use cash as they go. Students are genuinely tired of the selection and wish to see the meal plan requirements met by serving students the appropriate $9 worth of food. The actual amount usually sold at a standard student meal is worth around $5. Obviously, the facilities are making a good profit. Either the students are upset and wanting more for their dollar, or they want to have a decent menu selection so that they have the decision to choose.

Okay, but Not Great.

Eating at Stetson is not that bad. There isn't a ton of location options but it's a small school. At the places we do have they try really hard to have a large amount of variety and always have salads, a grill, pizza and pasta along with making many other dishes. A plus is that I'm a vegetarian and have had no problems dining at Stetson :)

Variety of Food

There is 5 places on campus to get food. They are very diverse. We have healthy food, sushi, greasy foods, and a store for the little things. We have a coffee shop which is a great place to study and is not too loud.

A Community Place for All to Eat

The food and dining options on campus are a variety and include a menu for everyone from those that have food allegens to vegans. The prices are low, so if you are not on a meal plan, it is still very affordable!! The community also comes to eat on our campus, which is really good for those in our community who would love to eat a healthy meal, but cannot afford it elsewhere.

Did You Know?

Be kind to the people who serve the food, and get to know them. If they like you, you may get some special treatment. An example would be cooking something not on menu at the grill in the Commons. And even if you don’t get special treatment, treat the people well—it’s a small campus.
