College Prowler Take
The strictness on campus always involves the dorms and parking. With parking on campus, tickets can be awarded for just about anything from speeding to parking in the wrong spots. Because parking is limited, students tend to park in public spaces as a last resort and ultimately get tickets. That same strictness rolls over into the dorms, where visitation hours are implemented. The visitation hours seem almost parent-like if not prison-like. The worst implementer of these visitation hours is Conrad Hall where visitation hours are only until 12:30 a.m. The problem is that most students need to stay up until 2–3 a.m. to study with classmates. Luckily, that is the worst, and it gets far better in the other dormitories, especially in Stetson Hall.
Another issue of strictness is the alcohol policy. The policy states that you can only have so much of certain alcoholic beverages. This is limited to only beer, wine, and wine coolers. Be careful if you are underage because you can get in trouble if you are in the mere presence of drinking. Students Speak Out

Probably the areas with the...
Probably the areas with the strictest policies are the alcohol, visitation policies, and honor system. Every person is required to sign the honor code every year. All professors put it in their syllabi, so it’s drilled into your head. The alcohol policy is a joke because they tell people who are 21 that they can drink, but only beer. And the visitation hours are ridiculous. I understand that people don’t need disturbances, but deal with it on a case-by-case basis. I don’t think that it’s fair that people are told they can’t have friends over of the opposite sex after a certain time of night in some dorms. |

The campus varies on strictness....
The campus varies on strictness. They are very strict on drinking, but not strict at all on skipping classes. Cheating is up to the professor to determine, and then you get sent to the honors council where you could face disciplinary action. Parking is horrendous, and if they give you five tickets, you face getting towed. Probably the worst is how strict one of the dorms is on visitation hours. I’m an adult, and I don’t enjoy being told who I can see and when. |

This campus is pretty strict. They tell those that are of legal drinking age that they can drink, but only beer and wine coolers. You can’t have too much in your room or any hard liquor. If you are caught, they will make you pour it out, and you could possibly get in trouble with
the University. |

The campus is too strict on parking. They give out too many permits to park on campus, and then when students violate the parking permits because they have no other choice, they get ticketed. I think they need to find better ways to deal with the parking problems than handing out ticket after ticket. |

The campus is strict on some things and then not enough on others. They don’t want underage drinking to go on, yet they allow the fraternities to host parties where they don’t card students. And then there aren’t enough policies concerning violence on campus. Students can get harassed, and nothing will be done about it. When something serious happens, then they do something, but the constant harassment doesn’t call for action. |
