Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Greek life has a lot of its own events and stays very busy throughout the year. What the fraternities and sororities do for the most part is charitable, local community service, or things for the Stetson campus. Examples of charity events include Breast Cancer Awareness and Rock Against Cancer. Stetson University has a tradition in Greek life called Greenfeather. Greenfeather is a competition to see which fraternity or sorority can earn the most points. Each year a theme is selected, and they have to implement that theme while helping the community. They do many fun events while serving the community. One thing not to forget is the normal functions of the fraternities and the sororities on campus. Events such as formals and retreats are the basics of the Greek life. The formals and the retreats are scheduled throughout the year, while sponsored events or coordinated events are done separately by each fraternity or sorority. All of this pretty much sums up what Greek life is all about. At times, it may keep you busy, but it’s very rewarding.

Greeks Can Fall Off for All I Care

The greeks do NOTHING but throw parties and get away with it and cause problems between each other. The school lets them throw parties and make a ton of noise but if a normal student is caught drinking in their own room or a dorm room then they get thrown into judicial. Not to mention our greeks are predominantly upper class white kids who get out of trouble because they aren't on scholarships. Why should I get more scrutiy because my daddy can't pay for all of my college?
