The first thing that everyone should understand is that DeLand has a limited amount of stuff to do because it is such a small town. Luckily, there are plenty of things to do elsewhere. But if anyone is planning on doing anything in town, here are some tips. At night, college student should look toward the main college hangouts. Those hangouts consist of the various bars downtown such as the Blind Pig. The best suggestion is to go to Orlando or Daytona for serious clubbing. There are more things to do locally during the day, when there is a variety of restaurants and little stores open. When students have a chance, they should take a drive with a friend and have fun exploring. The best places to start are the great little stores lining the streets of downtown. Plus, anyone new to the area should note the various restaurants as they pass by. Going downtown to shop at any of the local stores is a good idea. There also are little town cafés that are affordable and comfortable places to hang out. If you want to go shopping beyond small shops, there are several malls nearby. So to all who will be looking for something to do, happy hunting—you’re sure to find something to fit the bill!

Small Place Big Personality

Stetson is a close knit community where fitness is encouraged and friendliness comes by the boatloads! The weather here provides for a nice atmosphere for the campus. The people are genuinely helpful and jolly. The size of the school not only increases fitness but gives you a burst of freshness between classes that may be missed at bigger schools due to massive crowds or too many cars.

Close to Beach

The local atmospher in the town my school is located is pretty small town. The school is within walking distance to the downtown area. There is a movie theater, actual theater, bowling alley, and plenty of restaurants aroung. Also, Daytona Beach and New Symrna Beach are only about 20 minutes driving distance from the campus!

Cute Small Town

Deland is a small town with a cute town and revolving around Stetson. The campus is beautiful and lots of events throughout the school year.
