Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Off-campus dining is surprisingly pretty good around DeLand. To get to the good stuff, it might take a bit of drive but nothing that is too out of the way. As a student, when and if you do get an apartment, learn how to cook. It will save you some money. Otherwise, find your favorite student discount restaurant, and stick with it. Beyond DeLand is Daytona, where the mall and several restaurants will provide some good eats, but that can be a little expensive. Some good spots are El Rancho Mexicano, McDonald’s, and Tony’s New York Pizza. As always, it depends upon the person to find out what they like the best, and there is plenty to explore. There are only so many suggestions that one could give on off-campus dining, and they’re all simple. One is to know the local restaurants that give discount rates to Stetson students. When visiting the campus, you may want to visit local restaurants to see how you like them. The second thing to do is check out nearby cities. Daytona offers a good slew of restaurants that are a bit more expensive, but a trip there offers a nice night out. Orlando takes it to a whole new level. Either way, most will find their niche and enjoy it. The only problem is that you might find yourself spending a lot of money while dining out, as well as on gas money to get there.

Deland Is All Around Great!

Stetson is walking distance to Downtown where you'll find a large number of restaurants and other cool places to hang out, shop, whatever. A lot of the downtown shops and restaurants and other nearby spots offer a Stetson discount. Mainstreet Grill, Taco Amigo, Tops China, and so many more are either walking distance or a very short drive from campus. have reasonable prices and value students and their business.

Awesome!

There's a ton of great places to eat in Deland and in nearby Orange City. Pretty much every restaurant you could want-TGI Friday's, Olive Garden, Ruby Tuesdays, Moe's-is within 20 minutes of the school. Every fast food chain (Sonic, BK, McD's, KFC, Taco Bell, Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts) is right here next to Stetson, within walking distance (if you really had to walk) and most of these are open 24 hours for late night eating. There's a ton of pizza delivery places, Domino's, Hungry Howie's, Papa John's, etc. and there's also a lot of really great local places. I recommend Brick House Grill for a variety of yummy food or Tony's for great Italian. Everyone really likes Bellini's as well. There's definitely no shortage of food in Deland. And the best part is that most places offer student discounts.
