College Prowler Take
The overall experience of Stetson University can be described as intimate. The campus itself isn’t big, so of course that has its pros and cons. The pros are the fact that students get to know one another well, and finding and walking to classes is easy. Of course, if it’s a really rainy or hot day, then it can be a hassle. However, with a small campus, students are able to get to know their professors well, which is great. On the downside, if you miss a class, the professor will notice. Some professors here will curve grades based on attendance. Another contributing factor of the overall experience is the small class size. Small class sizes are nice for those who like it, but they correlate with a higher tuition rate.
I feel that for every pro, there is a con of some sort. The overall experience will differ for each student. Some move on to other universities; others like it here and stay. It all comes down to whether a student will take the good with the bad. I can say for myself that, since Stetson is always looking to improve, they will listen. Since they will listen, the bad things about Stetson become tolerable and make it a decent school all around. Plus, the location of the University is pretty good since it’s located between Orlando and Daytona Beach. The best advice for anyone interested in attending Stetson is that it’s important to get to know the University a little bit by coming here, doing the tour, and most importantly, talking to the current students. That will make things a heck of a lot easier in deciding whether Stetson is the place for you.

My overall experience is okay, but...
My overall experience is okay, but my major here isn’t reinforced as much as I would like it to be, so I’m planning on transferring soon. I’m sure more and more people will do this too when they realize that a lot of their years here are spent on prerequisites. |

The experience that I’ve had...
The experience that I’ve had at Stetson has been very eclectic. The attitude has been along the lines of work hard and party hard. Most people spend all day working on class assignments, and then they try to spend the nights partying or relaxing. The classes you have pretty much determine your life outside of school. |

My overall experience is that...
My overall experience is that it’s very challenging to go here. It is easy to become overwhelmed. Even though certain classes are more important than others, any bad grade will really take a toll on your GPA. |

I like the school as a whole, but I am disappointed that there aren’t more electives. The school definitely needs to gut all the dorms and build new ones and buy apartments off campus to rent to students. The one thing they really need to fix is the parking. |

I’m so close to graduating...
I’m so close to graduating that I can’t wait to get out of here. I wanted to transfer, but the tuition is so much that I figured because I already spent so much, I better get my money’s worth and stay. I should have transferred because my GPA would be much better. |
