I don't know who posted this but I don't know how being a hippie and dating is correlated at all? I wouldn't say the people here are hippies, either. The town has a hippie vibe, but the students are more modern-day "hippies."

At SUNY New Paltz, there is a disproportionate ratio of female to male students, with girls making up around 64 percent of the school population. Many students, both girls and guys, are very attractive; they take care of themselves and dress fashionably.
There are also some students who don't really care about what they look like, and it shows. Regardless, hookups are frequent; everyone's just trying to have a good time. Most hookups start at parties or the bars.
