Not the Prettiest Group of Students

As a guy, I can honestly say that I've been extremely disappointed with the girls at stony brook. Usually 18-22 year old gals are more pretty and sociable, but at stony (relative to other colleges) that isn't that case at all. Horrible dating scene for the most part, and you'll have to be completely smashed to enjoy the average hookup.

I think us guys are pretty decent people, but we're not the best looking either. It's a nerdy school after all.

Stony Doesn't Have the Funding

The school is very lacking in funding, which tends to show in the facilities. One of the best departments (engineering) is physically one of the ugliest college departments I've ever seen. I really hope they indend on updating that. Dorms aren't very nice either, especially considering their price.

A lot of the lecture halls are very run down and ugly, leftover from the original designs. The campus is improving nonetheless, and building new dorms and such.
