While the dining halls themselves are updated and nice, the food isn't quite up to par. The majority of food is served buffet-style, so depending on what time you arrive, your meal could either be hot and fresh or old and crusty. Of course, there are other options, such as the grill, which can make sandwiches and wraps to your liking, and the salad bar. The food is supplied by a company known as Chartwells, better known as "Shartwells" to students for its taste and the wrath it can unleash on your stomach. Though some days the food is better than others, such as hamburger sliders and "Wing Night," Chartwells usually fails to mix things up and consistently serves the same things time and time again.

If you don't fancy the dining hall (there is one located on every quad for convenience), you have the option of the Campus Center. You can use your SUNY card for a meal trade after a certain time or munch money, a certain amount of money put on your SUNY card for food. Options at the Campus Center include Wendy's, Zepps (similar to Subway), Häagen-Dazs, sushi, Tim Hortons (similar to Dunkin' Donuts), and Outtakes (a mini food store). While the Campus Center is a great way to escape dining hall food, it can often get crowded and have very long lines.

Could Be Better

The food that is served in the dining halls can be pretty bad. Occasionally, there will be themed nights such as Italian night where the food is pretty good. There is often the same options for several nights in a row. However, students have the option of using meal trades in the Campus Center where we have a pizza/pasta restaurant, Wendys, Tim Horton's, Zepps (like Subway), and a soup place.

Very Good

I love the foods in the State Quad dinning Hall. You can eat difference kind of foods, and the foods are difference in each day.
