I still do not enjoy the experience of online learning. I would much rather be sitting in a classroom and actually hear a lecture from the teacher. I'm more of a visual learner. It is fairly easy, but again, I do prefer sitting in a classroom.

My school consists of a lot of Caucasian people, which I am not really used to because my high school (Back in Maryland) consisted of a lot of African Americans. It's a mixture of younger folks (high school kids to seniors in college) and older folks (with older kids and grand-kids).

I haven't met THAT many people in my major (Fine Arts), but the one's that I have met are somewhat like me. Quirky, outgoing, creative in some form or manner. I'm glad that they have set out kind of a "blueprint" of my major in the classes I need to take to get to my degree. Without that, I'd probably be lost and farther away from my degree!

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I don't really deal with tuition and financial aid, my father actually pays for it. As far as I know, we haven't had any real big problems other than being charged little amounts of money that weren't supposed to be there. I've had a great experience at Surry, and I'm ready to move on to bigger and better things.

Surry offers a large array of criminal justice and forensics-related courses, which I really enjoy. They have a lot of great resources for these areas of study, and that's very helpful. However, for the most part, it seems like the school is focused only on providing an education for its students and nothing more - which is not necessarily a bad thing, but extra activities around the campus would definitely make it much more enjoyable and it would definitely help to make students look forward to coming to school.

The library could definitely use some work, there tends to be a lot of resources that don't pertain to the majority of classes offered. There are very few athletics offered, and those that are offered are not very promoted. I love supporting sports teams, and I would definitely enjoy a little more promotion of the athletics at Surry. For the most part, the campus stays pretty quiet, with little activity, I think it would definitely be a good thing if the administration put forth a little more effort to make the students enjoy their time at SCC.

For the most part, Surry provides great resources for its students. The wireless somewhat difficult to connect to, and can be a little spotty in some areas, but once connected it is very fast and effective. There are many computer labs throughout the campus, which is very helpful if you do not have your own computer.

For the most part, all of my online classes have gone very well, but the workload is often uneven. Some classes will go 2 weeks without having an assignment due, while others will have several assignments due every few days. However, SCC uses Moodle, which is very difficult to use, regardless of how well you are with computers. I used blackboard for a little while when that was the site Surry used, and that was much easier to use and extremely user friendly. I would definitely recommend Surry's changing to another website for their online courses.

The academic experience at Surry Community College is a challenging but a rewarding experience. I learned more in the two years I spent at Surry then I did throughout all my previous years at school. The professors have flexible appointment hours and look forward to helping students. Registration and scheduling is student friendly and not time consuming. As a result, the overall experience at Surry Community College is excellent and prepares the students for further learning.

I am in school to attain a degree in Associates in Science and the experience has been great and challenging. The campus life at Surry Community College is great, and along with exceptional professors there to help guide each student along makes the process all the more worthwhile. The workload is tough for math or science based degrees, but I would expect nothing less from a college who's goal is to prepare their students for further college education.

A few of the classes that i would have liked to take were only avaiable during spring semester and not the fall, which is when i needed to take the class.

I love that Surry is able to have classes most times that i need them. They have night classes for people that need to work in the daytime and school at night. I have used the later classes, but i am not a morning person and having my classes start at 9 is very well for me!

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The education that i am getting is well worth my money i am paying. Sometimes when i call the financial office i am not able to get in touch with the staff and the person that i am working with is sometimes hard to get in contact with.

Surry has a great baseball team and volleyball team.

Some classes that I've tried to take have been at the same time of each other, so that is kind of a hassle. I've had to move my schedule around a lot in order to fit all my credits and classes that I am required to take in order to get my degree.

I am a viticulture and enology major. I study how to grow wine grapes and produce the wine. The classes have been better than I expected. In only my second semester here I am already making a wine of my own and planting vines for a new vineyard. I can't wait to test all the different techniques and find my own style.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I am part of the Early College at Surry, so I really didn't have to worry myself with financial aid and applying for it each semester. All my books are paid for for the most part.

The professors are involved in the classroom and are really good about explaining different topics. As fast as the semester goes by, it is hard for the teachers to develop personal relationships with their students!

Surry really isn't too difficult, most of the classes are moderate on the work load and if you need any help we have tutors and student development readily available.

I got help from the teacher through an email. The tests were easy to do with the help of the textbook. The teacher sent me back some responses about my term papers.
