Susquehanna is a Division III school, so they do not offer athletic scholarships.

The team on campus that receives the most attention is undoubtedly the football team, even though other teams have far better records. Some teams get less attention than others, particularly the golf and swimming teams. All the teams are very dedicated and have high levels of team spirit. They take their sports very seriously and obey the 48-hour rule that says that team members cannot drink within 48 hours of a meet or game. The turnout to many matches, meets, and games is pretty low when compared to the size of the student body. Many fans are supportive in a subdued sort of way, but there are always a few people in crowds (possibly fueled by alcohol) who have enough enthusiasm for everyone else.

The intramural leagues are popular; teams are made up of groups of friends or campus organizations such as fraternities or sororities. The intramural sports range from flag football to volleyball, and are a lot of fun to watch and participate in. Sports that have the title “club” instead of “team” are also popular on campus, the most popular being crew (both men’s and women’s), rugby (men’s and women’s), and ultimate Frisbee. However, just because these sports have club status, it does not mean they are any less formidable. The women’s rugby team is particularly talented.
