Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Susquehanna is an amazing place to go to school. While some people see it as their worst nightmare, for those who want a small liberal arts school, there aren’t many better places to go than SU. The academics are impressive, the faculty is caring, and the atmosphere created by the students is amazing. A good motto for SU students is “work hard, play hard.” Everyone is here to succeed, but having fun never hurt anyone. While there are always a couple of students who forsake the work part, the majority of campus has its priorities straight. It’s easy to strike a balance between work and a social life.

While there are shortcomings on the SU campus, they pale in comparison to the positives. There are a lot of catch-22s. Campus security is really strict, but at the same time, the campus is incredibly safe. Professors live close so there are rarely snow days, yet they care deeply about their students and open up their homes to them. As already mentioned, if you are looking for a city atmosphere or a large campus, then SU would not be your ideal spot. However, if you want a smaller school, or better yet, have no idea what you want in a school, then Susquehanna really is the place to be. You can’t get lost in the shuffle on this campus; there will always be someone looking out for you, be it professor, roommate, or peer.

Great School

I absolutely love it on campus here. There might not be a lot around the school, but there are plenty of events to go to. There is a nightclub on campus which is open every Saturday night and sometimes Fridays. There are plenty of special speakers and musical performances. The dorms are nice and the food is average. The faculty really gets to know you and they really care about your grades and your well being. The school is large enough that you know a lot of people on campus, but is large enough to meet plenty of new people. And I definitely cannot forget the squirrels that are everywhere on campus. I love this school and suggest to anyone who wants a rural school with great academics and opportunities while still having a place for a good time.

I love Susquehanna. I was...

I love Susquehanna. I was disappointed when they wouldn’t let the fraternities have on-campus parties anymore, but otherwise I couldn’t be happier. It is a gorgeous campus, and the people are really nice. The professors are friendly, and it is really easy to get involved and play a large part in an organization.

I wish Greek life had more of a presence on campus, and I wish there was a larger party scene. This, however, has made many people change schools. I think that the academics are very strong, and the people are great. I enjoy hanging around with my friends on weekends, and the campus is very safe. There is plenty of stuff to do. However, if I were not willing to go out and find my own fun, I wouldn’t like Susquehanna. I feel comfortable at SU, and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.
